Goodness Bridget are things so bad.  I really don,t know much about him but I have been told he is doing a superb job for Jeremy.  I think he lives in Yorkshire that must be in his favour what do you say Patti.

All I'm saying Susan, is that there are alternative views on Simon McKay, and aspects to his background which some would prefer not to hear about. It'll just end up in yet another battle.

Maggie it would appear nobody is interested in having a discussion about Simon MacKay perhaps nobody knows much about him.  Come on your posters lets get a serious debate going.

Hi Susan, I don't know much about him at all. I have only seen his comments that were made an the "tonight" program. From that comment, it took it that he deals with facts and evidence and, rightly so. His role in defence should be to look at the evidence in the past and evaluate with in modern day scientific approach, which is what he is doing, I hope.

Where he lives I have no idea...I suspect it is Leeds. :)

Patti  Thanks for your response I thought I had frightened everyone off the forum.  Yes that is what I know about him but I feel that ngb who I have the greatest respect for thinks very highly of Simon.  On another note could I have the thread you offered me yesterday the Social workers report on Sheila.

Simon McKay seems to me an excellent lawyer although I am no legal expert but I am guided by Neils opinion of him and also the calibre of people that follow him on twitter and interact with him. He will be on twitter talking to about six different people about different cases at once. He wants to know everything that is going on.
He is followed by lots of important people in the media too.

In the short time (just weeks) he had to get to grips with the case I think he has done an excellent job and I believe he will be successful in overturning this conviction.

I think there will be a campaign starting very soon to get more public interest than there has been so far and I have lots of ideas to help with this

I don't think the general public are aware of the PII issues in this case as the documentary didn't have time to deal with those issues.
I will also be opening up my twitter account for people to post on.
I want details about the case posted continually

I don't think Simons financial position has any bearing on this case or reflects on if he is a good lawyer or not

I think Jeremy is in very safe hands with Simon and we all need to get behind him

Great post.  Although my glass is always half empty on a referral, for reasons previously stated.  I'm a pessimist when it comes to this case.  Still, I hope I'm wrong.

Patti off the top of my head since about August but I will have to look it up but Neil thinks he has done an amazing job in such a short time.  I was pushing him to look at the case for a while but he was obviously committed to other people as well

Thank You Jackie. He has certainly done well in such a short time. It takes me two days to absorb one document....:)

Jackie would I be right in thinking he will have a team working on this case.  The mind boggles at the files etc. and statements that will have to be sifted through.  Must be hard work but I believe he is fully committed to the case.
