My friend's Aga runs ALL year round as it supplies her hot water, however, I have to agree that I haven't seen any pictures of bed linen with bullet holes, BUT, as we're surmising, with night attire such as June wore she COULD have thrown off the eiderdown/duvet and just had a sheet as covering. Many of my friends, June's age and older, still sleep nude.

No, it isn't Mat. The friend who runs hers constantly has an oil fired model. Another friend has a much more up to date gas fired model and a helpful guy to come and turn it off and she then heats the water with by immersion heater and cooks on a gas cooker which is in her garage!!!! Yet another friend has wood burning Aga and an electric cooker standing beside it!!!!! Just between us, I can't help wondering if they're more trouble than they're worth...................but they do cook food beautifully

I don´t know a thing about Agas, so maybe this is a stupid question - but don´t they pollute a lot, and isn´t using an Aga an expensive way of cooking and getting hot water?

Hi april/Mat think nearly all farmers have Aga's my neighbours have them pest in the summer they have to turn off and use the electric cookers

jansus yes was the old type black range which are now very collectable. Aga's cost a fortune and you need to be well healed to have one reserved for the gentleman farmer and gentry

They do seem to have become a bit of a status symbol, but with people demanding kitchens the size of the ground floor areas in an average house, they have to fill them with something I suppose.

I thought it would be younger women who would sleep nude and older women in traditional sleepwear.

And I can't imagine June sleeping otherwise entired than she was despite that it was summer, however we're all different.
