Supposedly, nugnug, It was mentioned on a Radio Show a couple of weeks back, you can listen to it on youtube. He was a Porter at the Leeds General Infirmary; had access to the Morgue.

Susan/Andrea, it was actually mentioned on television in the first days of the news breaking, but of course, it didn't have the connotations it now has.

As i was buying my orange Children in need wrist bangle at the weekend two thoughts came to mind , though this year was better than last year i do think this saville coming to the news has added to the donations this year, the other thought is anyone visiting Scarborough cemetery over the Christmas period to lay flowers can they erase the fact that saville is buried there , i was hoping his family would do the right thing and get him elsewhere , a child is buried next to saville.

Mertol, I think that the collective conscience is in gear.

The family did remove and destroy the gravestone which was very commendable as it must have cost thousands.  As for digging him up, I expect that might happen in time but it is not easy as you need a licence from the Home Secretary to dig someone up and it is not granted casually.  Also not simple as I think the grave was sealed with concrete, (wonder why?  maybe he saw this coming)?

Also is completely true that a Yorkshire Ripper victim was found only yards from his Leeds Flat by Roundhay Park.

Yes his headstone cost £4,000 plus the cost to remove and break up, that would add another £1000 easy, i agree its not simple to remove the deceased without good reason, though i was suprised the council allowed such a burial incased in concrete, it has been said saville was buried wearing jewellrey in number the concrete may deter graverobbers .

It was Irene Richardson that was found in Roundhay Park. Marcella Claxton was also attacked there.

Slightly off topic but it is jewish tradition to place a stone on a grave.  I once visit graveyard in Jerusalem where Robert Maxwell is buried.  It seems that in case of maxwell there is slight departure from tradition in that his grave has been attacked with bricks, bottles, tin cans, paint and well "other disgusting things."

Maybe start tradition for Sir-Vile?
