Thanks, Dave! And as I was saying to, gringo, weren't many of the European Jews and Holocaust survivors descendants of the Canaanites or Levant people?

That is correct.

Weren't many who returned to Israel actually diaspora, as it were?

Digress about what, Cutie?
You're article is about the breaking news about bird disease, I saw that on the news today!
Funnily enough, I found wild bird seeds in Home bargains the other day, £1.09 for a decent sized bag!
Anyway, I haven't got bird feeders, I just scatter the seeds on the concrete drive! Will that save the spread of disease?
Same with the HW Nevill's bread, I throw it on the shed roofs or spread out in the garden.

Digress from the thread topic.

Imo it is better to let wild birds forage.

Yes, especially through the summer at least it seems, Cutie!
Different in winter however, especially when the ground is frozen and covered in snow?

European Jews are not and have never been indigenous to Palestine. That is why the myth of Jew being a race and a religion exists. They are descendants of European converts to Judaism. Colonists in Palestine have no connection to the land.
Even if was true that their ancestry could be traced back Palestine (it isn’t)then what difference does that make anyway. Can we all claim territory that some ancestor lived on millennia ago?

Well we don't tend to have those conditions in the south.  But even if those conditions prevail the birds will manage and survive.  Have you ever seen loads of wild skeletal birds hanging around?  I would only feed them if there was some direct request from RSPB to do so.  Humans eat too much and too much of the wrong stuff too!  Hence the obesity epedemic.  Too much food and too little movement.  Don't want the birds going the same way  :)

False

They are descendants of European converts to Judaism.

Also false. Judaism does not seek converts and a person who wishes to convert to Judaism is to be discouraged from doing so (traditional rabbinic practice).

If I ever come back as a bird, I'll give your garden a miss.

Read that Trump was told about the Strait of Hormuz. But thought the war would only be a few days.

The only way that would have happened is if they killed the Supreme leader and claimed regime change had been achieved. While simultaneously blowing up a few selected sites & claiming they were nuclear building plants. Then leaving.

They did kill the Supreme leader. But did not claim regime change. Then they seemed to just lumber around. Blowing up some planes & ships. Supported by Israel. Plenty of time for Iran to consider using the Strait of Hormuz

You would love it and not want to leave as it has lots of natural habitat and food sources  :)

I would have thought Iran was aware this was its trump card long before the war kicked off.

"There are unknown unknowns" is a phrase from a response United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave to a question at a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) news briefing on February 12, 2002, about the lack of evidence linking the government of Iraq with the supply of weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups.[1] Rumsfeld stated:

Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.[1]

Where does the Stait of Hormuz fit:

- Known knowns - things we know we know
- Known unknowns - we know there are things we do not know
- Unknown unknowns - things we don't know we don't know

The Strait of Hormuz is hardly something that can be hidden like WMD.

- things we should know but massively miscalculated based on excess hubris

But you want to start history at a point that suits you. I can't possibly respond to all the claims you made as I would have to make twenty separate posts. Suffice to say, trust has irretrievably broken down following  the October 7, 2023 attacks.

Funnily enough I re-posted a Melanie Philips video over on Twitter tonight, Steve!
