CAL's visit to WHF.

If I was CC I would not mind Sheila & the twins going to WHF for a few days.

June & Nevill could monitor Sheila & the twins. There were also other people around, such as farm workers, BW & the house keeper.

CC could drive them there.

France, no way.

Shelia is the boys mother and entitled to her time with her children to do whatever she likes as long as they ok and looked after. They were going to their grandparents farm.

CC liked Nevill, who was an upstanding gentleman. He didn't take kindly to June, in the instance of her trying to cast religious things on the children.

This is normal family stuff

You know this, CC offered to drive them and did do to WHF.

CCs recollections are tainted from the wisdom of the event.

For me CC would never allow the twins to go to France with Sheila. As she couldn't function.

Yes, as ILB says, your literary skills are no doubt unmatched on the forum here, Steve, but are you sure that you didn't just describe a Sheila who had finally reached rock bottom and had nowhere left to go or indeed turn to bar the gun cupboard?
