Nevill's trade off:
« on: March 29, 2025, 12:44:PM »
Supporters believe Nevill made the following trade off -

Let Sheila go & stay upstairs with a loaded rifle. For a period of several minutes.

In the hope Bamber answers his phone & gets to WHF before things have escalated.

The crime scene shows the trade off did not work.

This is not the defence scenario.

This is Nevill was shot in bed & then went downstairs to ring Bamber.

The prosecution saying he would not have been able to speak.

A better trade off would have been -

Re claim the rifle while fully fit.

Sheila does not go upstairs with a loaded rifle.

You don't know because you were not there.  No need for speculation when the soc evidence at WHF by way of blood stains/lack of, casings, distance of shots, trajectories and wound tracks tells its story by way of facts.

It can be evidenced the perp was in the main bedroom shooting June when NB appeared on the landing at the entrance to the main bedroom and sustained his facial shots.  This supports NB coming upstairs from the kitchen having called JB.

The fact the defence at trial was unable/unwilling to correctly interpret the soc evidence by way of blood stains/lack of, casings, distance of shots, trajectories and wound tracks does not make it any less relevant.  It is further evidence of a poor defence.

Do you believe Nevill's trade off of letting Sheila go upstairs with a loaded rifle while he phoned Jeremy was the wrong choice?

Does not matter what anyone believes.  The soc evidence by way of blood stains/lack of, casings, distance of shots, trajectories and wound tracks tells us to a large extent what happened.

Not sure why you keep mentioning your view of the soc evidence. I go by the police's.

Seems you don't believe Nevill's trade off decision was right.

I agree. Letting a woman go upstairs with a loaded rifle was wrong.

What he does afterwards is up to him.

Certainly the wrong choice to let Sheila go upstairs with a rifle. While everyone else was surprisingly still sleeping.

He didn't want the coppers at his door.

For a variety of reasons.

So reclaim the rifle.

The trade off of letting Sheila go upstairs with a rifle so he could spend several minutes phoning Bamber was a surprising bad choice from Nevill.

Uncomprising position.

One of Sheila's previous outburst scared a 40 odd year Iraninan guy witless so much so he was begging for Nevill to come and see to her.

We are sat in armchairs looking at this.
