No,the side handle could only be partially banged into place Adam, and there was no mention of the bottom latch. The campaign team have explained all this,as you well know.if not check it out.

The bottom latch is not relevant.

The kitchen window could be banged shut so the latch fell into place. Partially or fully.

As Bamber told Julie about before the massacre.

So Taff said the side handle on the kitchen window was partially closed and off the bottom latch did he? Dont remember reading that in his statement Adam.
Didn't Taff say that all windows were latched and secure,or words to that effect?

It is no big surprise that there was a window that could be manipulated.

It was a big old house.

I find them very hard to believe. My partner, as a child, used to cycle from Oxley Hall, between Tiptree and D'Arcy, to swim in the creek. I'd have thought it would have been paradise for JB, given that he was clearly into water related sports?

I accept that he may never have used them. But I don't believe he didn't know about them due to having been raised in the vicinity

Bamber probably used the bike.  The bike makes most sense.

Bamber admits to taking the bike from WHF just prior to the murders.

That would be consistent with planning to use the bike to commit the crime.

And then the other alternatives are walking or car.

Walking is way too slow, you'd eat into so much preparation time either side of the crime.

Even Bamber would not be stupid enough to use a car.  Imagine going down Pages Lane with your full beam on!?

May as well have Black Sabbath on volume 11 as well, with the windows open.

Even with dipped headlights you are going to light up bedrooms as you drive down, not to mention engine noise, and setting off the dogs.  So you'd have to park up well away from the house.  That would mean a car being parked on a road where there is never a car parked at that time of night, which would arouse suspicion if a neighbour saw it.

So definitely not a car.

That just leaves the bicycle, which is very plausible given the known facts.

Light bedrooms up as you drive 😆😆😆😆😆

Seems from a source I have just found that Bamber thinks the idea of cycling down the sea wall on his mother's bike was " madness and laughable " he also claims he has never been to the sea wall in his life

Several locals also said this.

Looking at Goldhanger on Google Maps, I cannot see any supermarkets or shops. Only one pub.

It does look very small. Really somewhere you would drive through. Residents would drive somewhere else to get there essentials.

There may have been a local off licence that would be a 5 minute walk.

So Bamber's testimony that the bike was brought for Julie to go shopping does not work.

She's not going to cycle miles for a loaf of bread. Any shop in Goldhanger to get one would be walking distance.

So not surprising the CT are  saying the bike was brought for Julie to cycle miles to the bus station.

However that is equally implausible

Bamber agrees with Julie's testimony - that she suggested a bike.

Julie saying it was suggested a year earlier. To give her the option of cycling to work in Malden.

This is the most plausible reason why a bike would be brought to Goldhanger. It may be used regulary.

However this does not benefit Bamber as in August 1985 Julie was not working in Malden.

So if the bike wasn't brought over for -

Julie to go shopping.

Julie to go to work.

Julie to cycle to a bus station.

Why did it arrive 2 days before the massacre?

Both Bamber and Julie agree the bike had not been discussed for a long time.

Julie saying she suggested one a year earlier and unexpectedly saw the bike at Goldhanger on the Sunday before the massacre.

The judge asking why the bike had been brought for Julie if the relationship had been coming to a close.

Bamber denies he used the bike, calling it laughable, il provide you the source via PM.

Bamber says " he has never been there in his life "

I didn't meet him until 1993 in jail, it's up to his relatives or friends of that time era to agree or disagree with what he is saying for corroboration or otherwise.
