The neighbour who saw Jeremys car outside his house will be telling the truth. However let's say the neighbour went to bed at midnight, they wouldn't have been none the wiser if he set off at 2am

But there are other neighbours on Head Street, surely? I live in a village and everyone knows everyone else's business. It's just a fact of life. Ironically it keeps crime very low.

Have you got a source about this neighbour?

There are other properties.

I feel confident that if I got in my van now which I am doing shortly to pick a takeaway up, I will drive back without being seen. And I live  in a city.

A guy who does something like this is a natural risk taker.

If you believe he's gulity, elements of his behaviour post massacre are risky, in the sense of appearing gulity, selling off stuff, callously putting the dog down " cos it will knacker my stereo " selling pictures of Shelia to the sun, drinking benders, drug benders,  all in view of the police.

After the crime if gulity he didn't try to cover his tracks, " he was like fuck it, it's time to party, he apparently even said" right that's it times up"  after his dying swan funeral act.

And to tell a woman of what he's done when he's playing around on the side with other women , and he's planning to leave her confirms. Shows his " recklessness" but the car journey isn't " reckless"

There's no way he wouldn't drive through fear of being seen.
It was arrogant behaviour. Did he believe it was risky? He told Julie it was the "perfect crime." In his eyes she had nothing on him, until it slowly dawned on him she was going to be a problem.

Have you got a source about this neighbour?
It's in Appendix 1 of the CAL book.

My apologies it wasn't a neighbour, it was a guy who knew Jeremy. He recalls seeing his vehicle outside his property.

As I posted before a 65% Moon phase does not provide 65% of the illumination provided by a full Moon because the direction of light hitting the Moon is at a different angle.

You would get very little help from the stars.

All getting technical.

Moonlight.

Stars.

Open area.

Good terrain.

Level terrain.

Passing no/one properties.

Knowing the route.

Used to living/working without artificial lighting.

Physically fit.

Short cycle ride.

Highly motivated.

What the frig more did Bamber need?

Why would he remember that? He wouldn't have even been asked until weeks later. I can imagine that he may have looked on the night after the murders, because he would have had reason - the whole village would have been talking about the Bambers but the previous night - don't buy it!

Would love to replicate Jeremy's supposed journey but very risky at 2am and not sure if I could get a hotel.

A day time stroll the same as Wilkinson doesn't do it justice

It a source from CAL.

In fairness I believe it's true. It's a bloke who drank in chequers who knew Jeremy.

It is believable but does not mean much.

I don't believe it does myself.

Even if a neighbour had seen his car, they more than likely would have gone to bed and would have been dead to the world by the time Jeremy set off

It was arrogant behaviour. Did he believe it was risky? He told Julie it was the "perfect crime." In his eyes she had nothing on him, until it slowly dawned on him she was going to be a problem.

I don't think he was even worried when she went to the police ( from a gulit stance )

Doesn't seem flustered from the interview transcripts, many consider him evasive, but he remains fairly cool and confident throughout. Heavily riding on the " I left her so she made up bullshit agenda "

He attempted to send Julie a letter with sarcastic overtones " hi stinker"

Even when arrested at Dover weeks later and charged, he was all smiles

Even through the trial he was apparently very confident, Edmund Lawson QC recalling him discussing his prospective newspaper deal as the jury were deliberating, It's obvious he thought he was getting a not guilty.

I think reality only  hit home the first time when he would have been in the holding cell after being found gulity and given life with a 25 year recommendation.A source saying he broke down screaming " no no no "

But even then by all accounts he regained composure quickly, and told Rivlin about his intention to appeal.
