As said there are three methods of transport walk bike car

As said he the defence had bigger fish to fry, even if the sea wall theory was bunked how did that counter Julie mugford and the silencer with Shelias blood.

Moving back to transport, as said you say he could walk and he also had a car.

I'm surprised the prosecution just didn't say " he made a journey " all three are feasible on paper, walking bike and car

Why was Nevills Citroen at Bourtree?

I thought it was said that blood was found on the passenger seat of the Citroen? It was never said whose or what.

The prosecution would have wanted to submit a specific route to the jury.

The route they chose passed least properties & used up less energy and time than walking.

Saying he cycled on the main roads, one juror may say he wouldn't risk that. Which creates reasonable doubt.

Seems they alleged he walked to WHF, and returned by bike. I thought Julie had seen the bike at the weekend before at Jeremys cottage?

I thought the mantra was he cycled both too and from? I thought the bike was at bourtree. This is from the COA 2002 appeal judgement.

He cycled there and back. No point just doing one journey by bike.

Julie testified she saw the bike 2 days before.

The judge speaking about this in his summing up.

This is the COA, why would they get it wrong.

This is also what the CT say happened.

Have you got a transcript of justice drakes summing up ? A full one ? I have many documents but not that.

I have seen excerpts

It does seem a straight forward 20 minute cycle ride.

On wide, flat pathways on good terrain, tarmacked paths and Pages Lane.

He had lived at both properties and had worked on the land in between. For long periods.

The judge said why would he bring a bike for Julie if the relationship had been coming to a close for 6 months. It is in Wilkes's book.

Seems the COA and the CT are muddled up then.

Never saw any refute from Bamber or to be honest anything remotely  about the route from the defence perspective until I heard him speaking about the route himself on tik tok.

Can't recall It being in the cross examination transcript off the top of my head

This is why I believe the defence stance from the outset was " nobody saw me make the journey guv' it's also referenced as a key defence point in the judgement of the COA 2002 so it would obviously been the stance at trial.

Don't believe the defence tried to debunk the sea wall.

A transcript of the direct examination between Rivlin and Bamber hasn't survived the length of time. There is no copy of it. They might have discussed it.

Doubtful however as I believe if they had Arlidge would have challenged him about it on cross examination.

This guy is cycling from Tollsbury to Goldhanger on an old Mountain Bike he's not riden for about 5 years, should give a good idea of the terrain?  Fast forward to about 3 mins 30 seconds when he starts at the sea wall.
