Seems Wilkinson is saying the route from The Sea Wall to WHF had very good terrain - 'there is a well constructed private tarmacked road/farm track which eventually leads to The Sea Wall via WHF & Wyke Farm'.

My estimation was the farm track was as wide as a car. As Rob said, tractors need to go down farm tracks. So wide with very good terrain.

Pages Lane is designed for cars so perfect terrain for a bike.

I just don't believe a DI would undertake it himself. It was probably done by an underlying.

You know how the chain of command works.

A DI is a senior officer, he was a rank below Taff.

He would have to drive through/past or around Wyke Farm. So I am interested in the left turn around 300 yards before the prosecutions.

This pathway takes a less direct route to Pages Lane. However completly avoids Wyke Farm. If the terrain was good enough to cycle, then it is a good option.

ILB will enlighten us soon.

Wilkinson rules out taking a more direct route by walking -

'There are footpaths which seem to link WHF to Goldhanger in a more direct manner. Via Joyce Farm & Lauriston Farm.

I have attempted to negotiate these paths but without success. The paths go directly across fields or cultivated crops. Or peter out on the banks of small streams and irrigation'.

-----------

The only walking option routes were the same as the cycling options. Walking those routes twice in one night would be very tiring and time consuming. It would also mean spending more time outside so more chance of being seen.

Seems the only direct walking route option would be walking across at least 10 fields & across pathways. If possible.

Or he could use a combination of footpaths & walking across fields. Which would entail zig zagging. This seems very tiring and time consuming.

In hindsight, the potential tiring 3 hour round trip mission of walking across fields, pathways, over hedges/streams, irrigation and zig zagging would have benefitted him the most.

Julie and the relatives would not have seen June's bike at Goldhanger before and afterwards.

No idea until I go in may and make my own conclusions

Seems from your conclusion both Bamber and RB are liars and  in regards to knowing the routes and locality.

We aren't local guys.

We just have maps and satalites.

Have more than that.

If you can check some of the fields. See if they could be walked over & if there are any obstacles blocking a direct route.

Sorry to keep asking for information.

What did RB say? Preferably with source.

Thinking again, having no bike at Goldhanger before & after the massacre may not be a great advantage.

The prosecution would just say he walked!

So might as well cycle as quicker and easier.

You don't have to say sorry.

We both have an interest in the case.

In regards to RB the source is in one of witnesses statements, books or diary notes. In regards to Bamber it is from his own mouth.

Both men knew the area much better than I, from Bambers perspective it's fruitless to lie about the route, it can easily be checked out.

I am not sure about Bamber's position.

Is he saying he didn't know about The Sea Wall?

Or that he knew about it but says it could not be cycled?

The source of Bamber dismissing the sea wall route is on his tik tok page. I can't recall it word for word but I can remember him calling the idea " laughable and complete madness "

We both know he would know what was been  insinuated by the prosecution. He was on trial!

The same as you, I believe he would know the route, as we both agree it was on his parents doorstep, he worked the land and had lived at WHF from being adopted when he was a baby.

If the prosecution route couldn't be 'cycled with ease', they would just say he walked or cycled via Maldon Road.

He could avoid the properties on Church Street when getting onto Maldon Road by going through the church and along 2 fields.

As said there are three methods of transport walk bike car

As said he the defence had bigger fish to fry, even if the sea wall theory was bunked how did that counter Julie mugford and the silencer with Shelias blood.

Moving back to transport, as said you say he could walk and he also had a car.

I'm surprised the prosecution just didn't say " he made a journey " all three are feasible on paper, walking bike and car

Why was Nevills Citroen at Bourtree?
