I thought you were a Brexiteer? If so you can't have your cake and eat it.
Considered Cumbria for what? Your retirement? I thought you wanted somewhere drier and warmer than the North? Its a good venue for walking and a break but I personally would not want to live there. I did once see a job where you had to walk to the top of Scafell every day to assess the weather which I thought would be fun.
Well, you do have a point about the weather in Cumbria. But there are parts of the county which are still unspoiled, and I could buy a house rather than a flat I would have to make do with if I lived in the south of England. I don't like the leasehold system, which exists only in England and Wales.
