This podcast explains the Brett Collins motives towards Jeremy quite well. (3min 50 sec.)
Collins returned to the UK from Greece, to hopefully gain from what he believed would be Jeremy's inheritance.

The podcast is slanted heavily in Jeremy's favour. So Brett had drugs convictions. It doesn't necessarily make him untruthful. The Jeremy supporters back Jeremy despite his own drugs dealing. Jeremy was "learning farming practices" in Australia? Oh so that's what it was. Surprising he didn't attend Agricultural College in England instead of working at Little Chef upon his return. Nothing wrong with that, but it suggests where his interests lay.
Nevill and June purportedly got on well with Jeremy. Of course they did in front of others. It's called "keeping up appearances" and is a characteristic of many middle-class families. The truth was very different, as a weeping Nevill confessed to John Seward, and Robert Boutflour's surmise that both adoptees had been the cause of June's second breakdown.
The podcast claims Brett spent time in Athens, knocking on doors in search of modest accommodation. The books on the case have him staying on the island of Mykonos, a small detail maybe but still an inconsistency. It's too pat for my liking also that Brett just happened to buy an English newspaper, when he was a New Zealander, and again just happened to read the Bamber murders story.
Was Julie jealous of Brett? He was certainly no Brad Pitt. She may have perceived an undue influence exerted over her boyfriend of eighteen months. There's no evidence of a sexual relationship, as vouchsafed in Brett's first statement of October 1 1985. By the way Adam, whilst we're on the subject of threads: some people prefer to develop a thread in whatever direction it takes. I really won't take any lectures from you on the subject. Another aside: Jeremy discusses his sexuality in #1684 here:
https://jeremybamberforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,7101.msg475800.html#msg475800It seems Robert Boutflour is castigated for spending £500 on making enquiries via a private detective on researching Brett Collins. Why wouldn't the relatives, who must have been in a state of shock, want this interloper checked out after the loss of five of their family? It seems a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
The photographs episode has also been turned round to favour Jeremy and Brett. What the makers of the podcast have failed to realize is that there was another set of photographs in June's bureau, which Jeremy still had in his possession and which could have been hawked to the highest bidder. So whether Colin destroyed the ones kept at Moreshead Mansions is neither here nor there.
The alleged statement that Brett made about Jeremy not having a sufficient alibi suggests that Brett had no involvement in the crime. Surely if they had planned it together they would have come up with something more substantial. I'm inclined to believe lookout's post of #65 with the implication that one can't believe a word he said in 1985 or his stories in the Press appearing in 2020.
