He would know the best cycle routes which had good terrain & where he would not be seen.
He could cycle the longest/safest route to WHF along the sea wall as had no time constraints. Walking would take too long.

Bamber had the option of trying out June's bike at WHF prior to stealing it.
After the horror of killing everyone, Bamber would not want dwell & want to move onto the next stage at his cottage as quickly as possible. Walking would take too long.
Bamber just needed a bike for a few days. For one mission. So stole June's. No point wasting money buying a bike just to use once.
