Ray Gilbert - the 40 year fight
« on: January 07, 2022, 07:41:PM »
Hello

I am hoping to share my story and experiences fighting to clear my name.

Am hoping to provide proof, undisclosed evidence that gives rise to other suspects who were part of a gang known for this kind of crime. The Hatchet gang.

Ray,

Why did you change your plea to guilty and how long was this before the trial?

Are you hoping to share the undisclosed evidence on this Forum?

Thanks

Ray,

Are we to assume that these threats are no longer extant and that witnesses in your favour can now talk freely to the police and others?

Ray, I think your case was featured in a Trial and Error programme over 20 years ago? Did you have an opinion on the programme?

There are 201 undisclosed witness statements that clearly point to other people. It would be difficult to share all of those on here.

A huge amount were shared with the journalist from the Echo as the basis of at least one of his articles still available to read online

The article in the Echo was really detailed. Did you send him huge amounts of paperwork for him to confirm it was actually the truth? He seems to really believe in your innocence

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video. The knots are very strange. Sort of made up with the hoops. I have the photo from the crime scene and have tried to replicate it for others to see.

It would be good if that kind of connection could be made but as with everything else, none of it was investigated properly

The reason I know about knots is that my late husband was in the Merchant Navy.
How were the police at that time in 1981 as there were riots around that time ?

If I remember rightly, a knot made up of loops is called a Bosun's Knot and the most used one because a bosun's whistle is then attached to it-----as on a lanyard.

Thank you,

Ive found my drawing but it probably wont identify a knot

In my mind I have a picture of what the knot looks like. There must be trades of some sort that use this type of knot, I'll have a delve because it is unusual that someone would use this particular method to tie someone up with.
