Oh, Jack!! Once you've been bitten, the flea has moved on!! And I should know. Pugs have industrial-strength fleas. There's probably a nest in your pants!! For every flea that you see, there are a million in your carpet. Spray, then hoover.

Shona what makes you think it's a hitman rather than JB if Sheila wasn't the murderer

F@@k have I got to spray everywhere!

Can you get rid of them or do they just keep coming back

Don't you keep scratching

I need dipping in a sheep dip right now I probably won't sleep all night

Imagine if I was going on a hot date tonight I would be itching everything

How do I stop them getting into my pants

I have put pyjamas on with elastic bands round my ankles and a belt around the middle

Fleas and pants is a no go zone

So many questions!! Some people (eg BT) don't react to fleas. They get bitten, but nothing happens. I come up like a bleeding dartboard. Like you. And my 3rd party theory is looking more and more unlikely. So that leaves me with JB. Read the book. Then tell me what you think.

I think that BT has got a rind, like a pig.

Jack, my fags and sherry have run out, so I'm off to my flea-pit of unwanted titty sex. Love, love, love.

Shona and Choco can you see a flea with a naked eye I have been at my friends who has dogs and I have been scratching all night I have sprayed my bedroom with deodorant and just nearly choked myself

Pet shop for me in the morning  >:(

Where's Vic and his mates gone

Yes, sometimes you can, although they will usually be too quick for you: I believe an average flea can jump flea miles. As Shona says, by the time you're aware that you've been bitten the flea's off biting someone else. It's highly unlikely you've brought fleas home with you.

Don't worry, Jackie, animal fleas won't live on you. I missed the news, may have a look before I go to bed, as I am now, I'm shattered. Night Jackie!

I once stayed a night in smelly digs in Brighton. When I complained about the fleas to the landlady she said "there's not a single flea in my beds" I said " you're right, they're all married with families"
Hows that for repartie !!

Spray, then hoover.
Fleas are easily seen if present, but their eggs are tiny. I would vacuum clean, then wait to see if any fleas or new flea-bites appear. If you do decide to spray, get a spray intended for carpets, not pets, and buy the largest spray can available. Vets sell a longer-lasting spray than pet shops, but the higher cost usually isn't worth it if you don't have a pet the fleas could live on. Dog fleas don't like cats, but cat fleas can live on dogs. Using over-tight elastic bands round the ankles can restrict blood flow and make your feet swell.

Well don't go sitting around in Hokley Woods for any length of time. Flees will be the least of your problems. :-\

It's certainly sad, in parts. I've spent much of today re-reading it, and unfortunately it just convinces me more.
That's because Colin is looking at things from one persective only.

Hi Shona, I haven't received my copy yet. Can I ask what aspects of the book have further convinced you?
I read it some time ago. Why don't folk use their public library more? It certainly is a very haunting book and it does convey Colin's sadness and the mournful lament that things could have been much different if he has stayed with Sheila. But we must also remember that it is all from one perspective. His. I was left with mixed feelings. (1) That Jeremy is definitely innocent. (2) That Colin did come out with some strange expressions, such as "This little robin drew our attention to the window". And other things. This and other things make me feel that everything in his book may be a bit coloured because he is convinced that Jeremy is guilty
