Do you think there will be a retrial handymanz?

Probably unlikely given it happened 37 years ago.
Also, Tamihere has already completed his sentence. Even compensation could be an issue, because I'm assuming the violent rape crime that he was on the run from would have had a similar sentence.

The Police need to find his co-offender if they are going to save face.

I believe it's suggested that Tamihere had an accomplice because forensically it looked as if Höglin had been slashed with a knife from the front whilst his hands were tied. But wasn't Tamihere a bit of a loner? It doesn't quite add up and it's very hard to find accurate information about the exact geographical locations apart from the superficial. https://youtu.be/jAqckKgm7h8

Being on the run for having committed despicable crimes I would imagine Tamihere would be pretty guarded about anyone who he'd want to get closely involved with.
In a previous post I mention who some locals believe his accomplice was.

I googled this person, (a local Maori identity) not by his name but his profession & locality.
He featured in a local newspaper human interest story.
Here's a brief history of his background that sent a chill through me.
He left NZ in May 1989, arrived in Europe with only $100 in his pocket. And had some spiritual calling to head north where he spent the next 20 + years living in of all places Scandinavia.
Then he happens to return to NZ just a couple of years after Tamihere is released from prison on Parole.

Do you have a theory on why the bodies were not found in close proximity to each other?

Heidi's body hasn't been found, so it could be close to Urban's.
This video points out that Tamihere had links to nearby ancestral land. This land is South of Whangamata whereas the land I visited last year where it's believed Heidi's remains are, is North of Whangamata.
