I was wondering why you think Foley let Heidi live in the car and not just kill her with Urban

If you take into account the Pauanui sighting. (a few weeks after Easter. Easter was early that year late March)
It would have to of been on the 8th April, given the Crosbies Clearing time line. Which would mean if it was Foley he would have only just met the Swedes, he wouldn't have wanted to kill Heidi until after he'd had his depraved way with her.

There's scant information available in the public domain. I was hoping to watch Bryan Bruce's documentary on the case but have been unable to obtain.

It looks as though he's put his Tamihere Doco behind a paywall.
https://bryanbruce.substack.com/

I see he subscribes to the theory of Tamihere having an accomplice (a theory I now believe in) because of the injuries Hoglin sustained. It certainly makes sense, its baffling how Tamihere could have acted alone.

I now live in a locality not far from Thames/ Coromandel. I was chatting to an acquaintance (who I'll refer to as Dave) I've recently made, the Swedish murders came up in conversation.
Dave is in his mid 60s and lived in the area all his life. He said it's common knowledge among some locals that Tamihere had an accomplice, even telling me who he is. A well-known resident of a nearby town between where we live & Thames. Dave said on numerous occasions people have said to this guy
'we all know you were Tamihere's accomplice', to which he just grins back without denial.

I think Tamihere is guilty. Police are reluctant to discuss the case since the finding of Hoglin's body and the watch evidence.

On a lighter note: how you New Zealanders pronounce the word "Thames" makes me laugh.

So did you manage to watch Bryan Bruce's documentary?

Unfortunately not. I was going off the YouYube videos I watched from memory in the opening post to this thread and which were subsequently withdrawn. What do you think of the John and Mel sighting of Tamihere and the blonde woman with make-up and nail polish? Do you think it was Heidi?

Very feasible now that I think Tamihere had an accomplice.
I actually googled the person who Dave told me was the accomplice, I was amazed at the likelihood that this other person/ accomplice could be involved.
I want to watch the Bryan Bruce doco, I might pay to subscribe to his sub stack.

Do let me know the outcome. We don't really have anyone of the calibre of Bryan Bruce in this country, though Mark Williams-Thomas might like to claim the title.

I subscribed to Bryan Bruce's substack, despite this I still have to pay to watch the doco.

But the case looks to be gaining traction again. A petition is circulating to search an area of the Coromandel for Heidi's remains not far from where I now live. I may go out there for a look.

How extensive is the area to be searched?

Well according to the article in the local paper, they want to target a particular spot.

Russell then received a tip that
Heidi’s remains might be in an
offal hole beside a woolshed on a
farm in Ohui, near Opoutere

Ohui itself is quite a large area of bush without many dwellings. So it would appear to be a good place with road access to dump a body without being noticed.
I'll try and take a look in the next few days.

Today I drove to Ohui. I went to the very end of Ohui road of which the last few Ks was gravel.
At the end of the gravel road was a turning circle. The property at the end fitted the description of where it is believed Heidi's remains could be, close to a woolshed on a farm.
I took a photo of what could well be the wool shed given what looks like bales of wool in the green polythene bundles.
Obviously with the farm being at the end of the road it would have meant there was less chance of being seen when dragging a body out of the car.
(having difficulty posting photo as an image, click on link to see photo)
