Mark Newby has made reference to hundreds of thousands of pages of evidence being released, as a result of 30 years of PPI coming to an end. That section of the authorities who hold an interest in the upholding of the conviction will have been keenly aware of the potential implications. They will also have been aware that JB has limited resources and funds, which would hamper any speedy re-application to the CCRC. I think they have tried to 'get in their first' in the intervening gap between release of evidence and referral to CCRC. The drama reinforces the official narrative, effectively, across a mass audience. Clearly the new narrative that Newby makes reference to, would never be afforded the same resources to reach a mass audience.
For me, the appearance of the dramatisation in itself is proof of JB's innocence.
