What do you mean "when Anthony Pargeter saw it"? When you see a gun, its not it its case. Otherwise you don't see it. You just see a case.

Anthony Pargeter saw the rifle in the gun cupboard on the last weekend of July, and it wasn't in its case then.

My thoughts are that as the family never made a statement on the day they handed the silencer over with what they said was human blood ::) That perhaps the police were embarrassed they had not found it so had to make out it was hidden ? Who knows

But why they would sit around drinking whisky when they had such an important pieces of evidence in their hands and not take notes or a statement sort of beggars belief.

Did they say human blood? I’m sure Anne said at trial she thought it was rabbits blood?  They probably didn’t know the significance of the find?  So your your saying the police placed it at the back of the cupboard or said it was at the back when 5 people were in the house when it was discovered.

They weren't asked to make a statement, there was nothing to make  astatement about until it had been tested.

Does Jeremy ever refute that the silencer was at the back of the cupboard, irrespective of there being blood in it?  He used it often yet he never says it wasn’t where it should be or where it normally is?

I imagine that things had been somewhat slack workwise in the rural areas and as soon as this crime came along they were completely out of their depth when it came to investigating on a large scale especially if the main man had been sitting back swigging whisky, not a good example was it ? It comes to something when even the witnesses complain that their whisky was all but depleted !

No, but to be fair, I never asked him.

Stan Jones wasn't the main man, Taff Jones was - it was down to him that the CS wasn't secured.

Stan Jones took over the majority of the case.

They were reprimanded over the Diane Jones murder which is why they were more than keen to secure a conviction in the Bamber murders.
