It does depend on what Jeremy actually said to her, but I find it hard to believe that she would just tell him to go to bed. After all, a phone call at that time of night would be taken seriously by most people, especially that kind.

Most people, receiving a "panicked" phone call from a relative, at silly o'clock would assume there to be an emergency and respond accordingly, ie call 999. It would not include phoning a friend.

I'd like to see a witness statement from whoever picked her up to take her to Essex. What was she told and when? She must have known something awful had happened if Jeremy told her the police would pick her up. Were her flatmates around at the time or what? I'd like to know what her reaction was.
