Conflicting Statements

Personally I don’t see why it matters who is on here . None of us are going to affect the legal proceedure surrounding this case . And I think it’s flattering to think the forum could have any affect whatsoever [ unless something is spotted in the documents/photos on here )

Personally I would only want jeremy released on proof , not a technicality because otherwise his life outside would not be worth living .

So that would be proof the phone call from the farm or two calls  did happen .
Julie admits she lied to avoid prosecution for other crimes
The silencer evidence is dismissed because it was removed from the scene and dismantled .
Proof that there was someone alive when the police arrived which is why they did not enter the house  straight away .

To be a good liar you have to be consistent, Bambers statements offer lots of contradictions.  Ok I accept one cannot remember  everything especially at a time of loss, but when it’s fresh in your mind certain things stand out in your mind and  you stand a better chance.   There’s is many a time Bamber is in contradiction and You can tell HE’S NOT BUTING WHAT HE IS  SELLING.  One factor was the phone call, did he phone the police before Julie?  He’s weighing up the consequences and RISK FACTOR  of a call to Julie first.

Another contradiction, when he’s telling the story to others.  One example he tells Colin’s girlfriend, “when he returned from going out to shoot the rabbits, he had walked in on a heated argument and he had left and it was still going on”

In his police statement, he goes on to say the opposite, no one spoke,  everyone was happy?

If he was guilty you think he would be more consistent with his planned scenario. If he was innocent he was as reported by some in a state of shock . When you are involved in a crime of course things become more important and relevant than first thought. I can’t think of one person in this case including the police who have not changed their statements . That’s what makes it so difficult.

I think your right Jan, everyone changes something, I made the thread not just with Bamber in mind if others are offered then rightly so.  I focused on Bamber first because he set the scene and it’s his story first of all.

What tends to happen with guilty people, they tell a different story depending who is the audience?  It’s Bambers story don’t forget, the phone call, the rabbits the argument in the kitchen so you would expect consistency?

yes agreed very good post and I also believe the drama shouldn't affect the legal procedure either. the courts have to go on evidence presented not what a tv programme says. If its based on Carols book its all out there anyway so ok many more will think hes guilty but it wont or shoudn.t stop the court process and I am surprised his solicitors and the campaign team asked them to postpone the programme.

I was involved in an accident once where a group of people were hit by a motorcycle resulting in one serious injury . I gave a factual statement and in fact had written down notes when I got home about the weather conditions etc. Later the rider was accused of running into us deliberately . All of a sudden other factors about what happened earlier in the evening and at the time became even more important. Sometimes it’s not just changing a statement it’s about adding bits or looking at it in a different light.

However Barbara Wilson giving Jeremy a complete personality transplant to me is totally not acceptable.
