if mugford lied to justice drake about the notw aspect. Why did she not face criminal proceedings?

She did not lie.

Lawyers from both the NOTW & the defence would have covered everything.

It is no secret her & Bamber had verbal deals. For one it would become written, dependent on the verdict.

What ??

I believe Jeremy to have had a deal with a newspaper to sell his story and I feel sure I read that he sneered that he was going to ask double what Julie got. Perhaps I dreamed it?

You did not. From Clare Powell's Murder At White House Farm:

Hidden in a hotel several miles from Chelmsford, Anji Greaves was chewing her nails as she waited for news of the verdict, supported by two girlfriends. She was dressed for a party and had a bag packed ready to accompany Jeremy to London and then on to their holiday, courtesy of a national newspaper. She believed that Jeremy would soon walk through the door and the celebrations would start.

"I planned to give Anji the verdict myself but she had already seen a newsflash on the television," said the reporter who had arranged the deal with her. "She was devastated. She was convinced that Bamber was innocent and had even decorated the room with banners. One of them was fifteen foot long and said, "Faith, love, truth, freedom. Welcome home, Jeremy."

thank you for clarifying that. Can I ask, off the record your opinion on the chances of a third appeal for Jeremy Bamber? I have always felt the strongest aspect of the case against him was the silencer evidence...

I think it is possible he will have a further appeal heard in the Court of Appeal but the grounds will have to be powerful in order to get past the CCRC.  I am no longer in the loop as far as the appeal efforts are concerned so I do not know how far JB's legal team have got.

Because the evidence that she lied has not yet been presented before a court.

She did lie.  She had a written agreement with the NOTW.

Bamber's deal was not improper, hers was.

How would this transform Jeremy's guilt to innocence?

Well she approached the police a year earlier.

Bamber's defence should have been better if the NOTW lawyers slipped up.

It brings Julie's evidence into question. She had an incentive to say he was guilty.

No, but without Julie's evidence, there was really only the silencer evidence. Everything else was fluff and speculation.

In the event Jeremy Bamber wins an appeal has a retrial and is accquited. Would JM face any legal proceedings??
