I know what the replies to this are going to be , but consider this . For some reason the police did seem to think there had been at least one call had been made from the farm . Therefore a hitman would suit their scenario . When they decided Jeremy was in the frame then they had to produce theories on how he had got there and back , they had to provide possibilities for where the forensic evidence had gone or what he was wearing , they thought they had motive , but everything else was a blank really , so they needed him to have a past history of plans as well and proof of an unstable personality.
Julie was close at his side supporting him at the beginning , happy to go away with him and go to the morgue , happy to make statements that either were true ? Or lies to cover up for him .
Personally I think her first statements we're probably true she did not think he had done it . I don't think it even crossed her mind . But later on after persuasion , which we know the police were very good at using she embellished conversations to help the police for whatever reason. Perhaps they told her they KNEW he had done it and needed her help , or accused her of being an accomplice . I know that there were other witnesses talking about the hitman etc but we don't know 100% the police had not spoken to her earlier.
I am excusing her behaviour in someways because her story so fits the bits that the police were missing .
And also did she not say in a much later newspaper statement that she THOUGHT He was guilty , which is different to she KNEW he was guilty .
If her later statements are true then I am sorry I don't buy she did not know , it is not normal to have conversations that specifically plan out murders with methods and discussion in that much detail . And then when it happens not connect the two?
And the police knew it would look odd so that's why they made her make that explanation statement of why it took a month to come forward.
IMO. OF COURSE. So I am not accused of whinging or being dictorial or any other negative trait posters want to attribute to me.
