DCI Jones recorded in his pocketbook entry that the body of Sheila Caffell was laid 'ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE BED' when he arrived at the scene. This lends weight to the contents of Dr Craigs witness statement account which states that at 8.44am when he pronounced Sheila as being dead, that her body was 'ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE BED'...

add to this the fact that DS Jones went to the scene in the company of DCI Jones, and that when DS Jones in the company of DC Clark entered the main bedroom, that the bodies of both Sheila Caffell and June Bamber were laid upon the top of the bed, with a rifle resting on the bed in-between both bodies, and that Sheila who had only been shot once to the neck by that stage, had a Bible resting on her chest!

According to Dr Craigs version of the events at 8.44am, Sheila had what appeared to be a bullet wound to her neck! When DCI Jones viewed Sheila's body 'ON THE FAR SIDE OF BED', he makes no comment about how many bullet wounds Sheila had got to her neck! Whereas when DS Jones and DC Clark visited the main bedroon, they only saw one bullet entry wound to Sheila Caffell's neck!

Other features observable in their versions of the event, include an agreement between Dr Craigs witness statement account, and DCI Jones pocketbook account, that there was only Sheila Caffell's body laid 'ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE BED' (or on the bed), as compared to the bodies of Sheila and June both being laid on the bed, side by side, one another? A possible clue as to the order in which Craig / DS Jones and DC Clark and DCI Jones visited the main bedroom and saw the bodies insitu, is that although Craig / Jones and Clark refer to Sheila only having one bullet entry wound to her neck, that DCI Jones makes no mention about how many times Sheila had been shot at the time of his Sighting her body insitu?

There is no doubt about the timing when Sheila received the 2nd shot, which occurred after the Craig visit to the main bedroom at 8.44am, and after 9.05am when DS Jones and DC Clark also visited the same bedroom. The fact that by the time Craig's and DCI Jones visits to the main bedroom that June Bambers body was laid on the bedroom floor by the doorway, whereas by the time Jones / Clark visited the bedroom, the bodies of both Sheila and June were together on top of the bed, suggests that the sequence with which the visits of all parties to the main bedroom occurred as follows:-

(a) Dr Craig
(b) DCI Jones
(c) DS Jones / DC Clark

The reason that DCI Jones fails to make any mention of the number of shots Sheila had received to her neck at the time of his visit, is probably due to the fact that she had been only shot once by that stage, but that he knew she had been shot a 2nd time later on as a result of a bizzarre shooting accident during a training exercise, after DS Jones and DC Clark had visited the main bedroom then left the farmhouse!

But, which shot had originally been fired into Sheila's neck?

Had the initial shot been the original PV/19 bullet which had been fired with the muzzle of the rifle under the point of her chin which had deposited itself in her brain?

Or, had the 1st shot been the original piece of a badly fragmented bullet (PV/20) which had been fired diagonally into and across her neck?

Clues exist which can be relied upon to distinguish which of the two shots had been fired, one before the other..

Clues exist which can be relied upon to distinguish which of the two shots had been fired, one before the other..

First of all, (1) death would have occurred instaneously once bullet PV/20 had been received, whereas, (2) Sheila could have survived and moved around for a while, until PV/19 was recieved..

Secondly, Sheila's body had been the body of a woman seen through a ground floor laundry room window, prior to the firearm officers entering the premises. Thirdly, Sheila had been the female body reported as dead inside the kitchen, as mentioned in timed police message log entries (7.35am, 7.37am, 7.38am, 7.42am, and 7.45am), and Sheila was none of the three bodies found upstairs by 8.10am - from this information we can successfully conclude that the very first shot inflicted to Sheila's neck must have been, and could only have been bullet PV/20 ( the piece of a badly fragment bullet...

Sheila must have still been alive on all of these occasions!

If Sheila Caffell did not receive the second fatal shot until after all of these occasions, how could Jeremy Bamber have been responsible for shooting dead his sister, and then (he) staging her death scene on the bedroom floor as a suicide?

Impossible!

Pi Miller mentions in his notebook entry that 'Sheila Caffells body was on the far side of the bed'! Dr Craig mentions in his witness statement that 'Sheila's body was laid on the far side of the bed'! DCI Jones mentions in his pocket book the fact that 'Sheila Caffells body was laid on the far side of the bed'!

DSJones and DC Clark, on the other hand, placed 'the bodies of Sheila Caffell and June Bamber laid side by side on top of the bed' in the main bedroom!

PC Wright (the Coroner's officer) places the body of Sheila Caffell on the bedroom floor with two bullet entry wounds to her neck, and that by this time (9.30am) the rifle had already been removed from her body - and yet, in a witness statement made by PS Woodcock, he states that at 11.10am that he removed the rifle from Sheila's body and made  it safe. .

How can the rifle have already been removed from Sheila Caffell's body when the Coroner's Officer (PC Wright) saw her body on the bedroom floor by 9.30am, if PS Woodcock did not remove the rifle from Sheila Caffell's body until 11.10am?

Does this serve to establish that police staged Sheila Caffell's death scene on the bedroom floor in possession of the rifle, in time for PC Bird to photograph Sheila's body insitu in possession of the said rifle before 'it' got removed from her body in the first instance?

And, what of the claim made by DI Cook that it had been 'he' who had removed the rifle from Sheila's body, and that it had been 'he' who had handled the rifle without wearing any gloves, and that 'he' had stood the rifle against the inside of the main bedroom window?

As if that doesn't serve to throw a spanner in the works, PI Montgomery claims that 'he' removed the rifle from Sheila's body and that 'he' made 'it' safe?
