Does anybody have a copy of Nevill and June's wills?  If they were probated, then they are public documents and open to examination.

Did Sheila make a will?

I've looked at the document file on here and the wills don't seem to be there, and I've also done a search of the Forum.

Thanks.

The Wills weren't published I don't think, only snippets from their contents had been discussed in the past. Just one or two posters from the past had been privy to both Wills and they contained provision for Sheila,Jean Boutell,Ann and David in June's Will and Nevill's contained provision for Jeremy,Jackie and Anthony.
There'd been no mention of the twins.

RWB had gone to see his own solicitor about who would benefit-----2/3 weeks before Jeremy was arrested.

There has been exhaustive discussion on this in the past (as one might expect) but to summarize briefly for new members:

There has been exhaustive discussion on this in the past (as one might expect) but to briefly summarize for new members:

Nevill left the Farm to Jeremy under the proviso that he was satisfactorily farming on the date of his death (that is to say the Henry Smith trustees were satisfied at his efforts to date). He left his capital to June apart from a gift of £10000 to Sheila.

June left her estate to Jeremy and made provision for Sheila, leaving her a parcel of land on the Osea Road campsite, enabling Jeremy to buy her out should he so wish. She also paid off the mortgage on the Maida Vale flat, so in effect leaving it to her daughter outright.

Sheila did not leave a will.

In effect the only way that Jeremy could drive a coach and horses through both wills was for all five to die simultaneously as they did.

We also discussed at length the legal term Commorientes, or simultaneous deaths. In practice it was June's wishes which would take priority, thus making next of kin first Mabel Speakman, then upon her death (or her changing her will as she did) Pamela Boutflour. https://uk.practicallaw.thomsonreuters.com/2-383-4021?transitionType=Default&contextData=(sc.Default)&firstPage=true&bhcp=1

I'm sure this has been discussed before but these discussions can sometimes be difficult to locate.  Do you have the link, please?

The point is: If the wills were probated, then they are public documents and remain open to examination.  There is no reason why they shouldn't be primary sources.

There was every reason at the time for the Wills not to be made public as the property concerned where all occupants were deceased, was empty and therefore a target for would-be thieves. This practice used to happen years ago when Wills were printed for all to see in the local press. My family were nearly made victims of this only for the alertness of neighbours nearby at the time.

Primary sources aside, I'm guessing you've already watched the two financial related videos by the campaign team?

I've watched lots of videos about this case.  My query still stands and I can only conclude that nobody here has applied to the Probate Registry for copies of these wills.

I base my conclusions, if any, on primary sources where I can, so what somebody else tells me about the wills, while of interest, can't be considered authoritative.

I conclude that you include yourself in that category.

Indeed, but I have been here a mere two weeks and I'm still at the questioning stage - I haven't been commenting on this case for years.

Thanks - though it doesn't look like the full document.  If you have June's, I'd like to see it.  And Sheila's, if she made one.

No wonder much was made of the fact of JB's lack of interest in farming ! ::)
