You are - you're ignoring the lack of creasing on the Bible.

What creasing are you on about?

None!

Perhaps there are 5 bibles, just in case the other four got tired or they lost one or two. Perhaps they breed like rabbits or perhaps the police just like to complicate a fit up by making it almost impossible to keep track of OR perhaps they did it on purpose to confuse and amuse!. More likely though? There's only one!

There's way too much breeding going on in this case. Perhaps they could make a start on neutering the worst offenders?

The creasing on the cover, which is absent on the photo of the Bible face upwards. There would be some sign of it, unless someone went to a lot of effort to get rid of them.

There were other Bibles in the house actually.

It's going to be absent. Unless one is a total Philistine, one is hardly likely to 'encourage' the crease still further by forcing it into position when the book is lain on it's cover.

Huh? That would be tampering with evidence, and you'd still see signs of the creasing anyway.

It would also be 'tampering' to make the crease more defined. How on earth would one see the cover of a book when the book is open and placed cover down?

It would only make it more defined naturally by placing the Bible face upwards. I can see the corners of the cover are not creased - can't you see that?

I'm no longer certain what it is you're trying to say here. Yes, I saw a precise crease in the corner of the cover of the bible when the cover was uppermost. When the bible was the other way up -cover down- I saw no sign of a crease, which doesn't surprise me. Possibly someone attempted to straighten it?

You'd still see a sign of it though IMO. It was very creased at the corner. The pages wouldn't look so neat either - they'd been in disarray when it was face down.

Can you explain why there's no blood on the cover, or where the blood stains came from on the pages?

Off the top of my head, there wasn't enough blood on the floor to soak through from the face down pages to the cover. The origins of the blood stains have been discussed ad nauseum. My thoughts on it are irrelevant.

So creasing on the bible cover can't be seen on the open bible pages? Huh? Perhaps we need an xray machine?  ???

Can you not see the corners of the cover? I'm a bit tired of explaining it. If you and your mate can't see it, I can't help you and we'll just have to disagree.

Let's see what would have happened to the Bible. It would have been bagged I assume. Would it have been bagged in exactly the same position - ie, open at the pages it was found? That would be difficult as some of the pages were askew. How do we know that it was open at those pages when it was face down?

I can see the corners of the cover but the pages with the stain can't be seen. You;re assuming they would be dog eared.
