Huge sums of money can be aquired. Maybe millions. Otherwise there is no point in committing an 'Inheritance' killing.

No other single crime will result in such huge material rewards.

The killer can act alone & is not relying on other people.

The killer will receive all the financial rewards for himself.

It is a one off crime due to the benefits involved.

The killer knows his family.

The killer will have access to his targets in locations which are not covered by CCTV or where witnesses are. Such as inside houses.

The killer knows when & how to attack.

The killer is less likely to get injured. It is a less dangerous killing than robbing a bank or stealing from other criminals or strangers.

The killer can plan an alibi or blame other people.

An inheritance killer is usually stronger than his targets - father, mother, sister etc.

The killer can claim he didn't committ the massacre as it's his own family.

The killer, if suspected can claim he's had no previous violent criminal record. Which is the case with most Inheritance Killers.

The killer will get a lot of other material benefits. Such as taking over family properties or family businesses.

The act of the killing may only be a few minutes or seconds. The rewards will last a lifetime. If successful.

There will be emotional rewards as the killer did not like the family members he had killed.

It's no surprise inheritance killings occur. The financial, business, property & status rewards will be huge. The risks small in comparison to single handedly holding up a bank for a few million.

Another big advantage of an inheritance killing is you don't need to be an experienced & skilled criminal.

Other one off crimes for huge amounts of money, such as the Great Train, Hatton Garden or Brinks robberies were carried out by hard core experienced criminals.

All Bamber needed to know how to do, was fire a rifle which was already at WHF. The reward - a million pounds in todays money.
