Wish I could read all the handwriting on that note.  It is so poor that it defies even maximum magnification. Why does it have Basil Cock's name at the top? Does it say 'to be inserted' in two places? What does it mean by Vanezis - makes no ref to PV 1-20?  Can anyone help decipher all this?

Very interesting statement from Hammersley dated 4th June 1986.
He refers to his previous statement of 22nd october 1986.
This appears to be a typo error as cannot refer back to a statement not yet made...so it seems to refer to the 1985 statement he made.

What is interesting though is the absence of either DRH 33 or DRH 44....which at various times have been references to a bible.
One can accept he collected other items from places that were not whf  but certainly if he collected a bible from whf then what indeed was its number changed to or why is it missing from the list of items?

The bullet case count for the bedroom cannot be correct.
Ralph cannot have been shot 4 times in the bedroom and not have left a trail of blood from there , all the way down the stairs and into the kitchen. 4 hits would have included 2 shots to his face/head so the chances of mobility by then would be very reduced.
It does not make sense .
In my view the 2 bullet cases that are claimed to be accountable to Sheila being shot are questionable .

As far as Ralph is concerned it seems he may have been shot while at the bottom of the stairs and in the kitchen only.
Bullet cases can be moved too easily to be relied on as giving safe evidence as to locations  where shots were fired from. These bullet cases with no accompanying blood trail fall to be rejected as misleading and may be viewed as part of a cover up by a person or persons trying to mislead others.

4 bullet cases attributed to Ralph being shot in the bedroom ....which is undermined by the far stronger evidence of no blood trail.
This bit of deception (most likely by the police) appears to be to remove a key bit of the attack on Ralph from the kitchen to the bedroom. As the phone was in the kitchen it seems the intention was to try giving weight to the deception that Ralph never called JB...for if he had been shot 4 times in the bedroom he would be unable to speak to use the room. The scenario being that both Ralph and June were caught by surprise in the bedroom.
The stronger blood evidence appears to show Ralph being first attacked in the bottom of the stairs /kitchen area.

The main mass of blood in the bedroom (apart from Sheila) is from June.  This is well scattered on the carpet and the blood drops were small in size so there was no great gushing of blood from the early wounds June received. The spread of these consistent relatively small drops of blood suggests she was mobile for a few minutes at least in the bedroom . Why she did not leave the bedroom at this time is an issue and the only common sense reason appears to be that she was very frightened at this stage and feared to leave the bedroom. It is likely that after a while the killer returned to the bedroom to fire more shots at June and finish her off.

If this is the case and June was shot first in the bedroom ...wounding her than a roused Ralph could well have fled the bedroom and headed downstairs to the kitchen. It is plausible that the killer went after Ralph at this time leaving the wounded June in the bedroom. It is likely some bullets were still in a rifle at this stage and that they were not used up on June.
This could well be when Ralph phoned JB and was then attacked by Sheila...with her shooting and wounding him before the interrupted call to JB or shortly afterwards.
It then seems that Ralph would have then been shot further in the kitchen before the killer (Sheila) went back to the bedroom to finish off June.  It may well be that June in fear herself and whilst events were unfolding downstairs picked up one of her bibles (blue one) for comfort with her being religouly obsessed. Some of the blood on the bible may well be from June herself.
