You are not going to believe this, but by 22nd September 1985, PS Saxby forgot what he told the incident room, after PS Bews, PC Myall and Jeremy Bamber returned from the grounds of whf, after seeing the figure at the bedroom window, and the reason for requesting the firearms unit to attend the scene?..

As if he could forget something like that!!!

It becomes apparent that by 22nd September 1985, Essex police were actively engaged in covering up what took place at the scene on 7th August 1985...

How strange...

That not only could PS Saxby remember what he spoke to the incident room about, after PS Bews, PC Myall, and Jeremy Bamber returned from the grounds of whf after seeing the figure at the bedroom window, but that the staff who were manning the incident room, do not also make mention of what PS Saxby spoke about on that occasion...

Similarly, although whatever was spoken about would have been relayed to a senior police officer in order for him / her to authorize the issuing of firearms to the members of the firearms team, that senior police officer, whoever it was, cannot recall what was said to warrant a decision to be made about issuing those firearms to police officers with a view to them being deployed to the scene?

It seems that Essex police appear top have a very selective memory when it comes to vital information and evidence, that could help to cl;ear Jeremy Bamber of these murders...

I must try and locate, and publish, the document referred to, by PS Saxby, as A25...

What message could PS Saxby have passed to the incident room, at the material time, to persuade them to make a request to a senior police officer for forearms to be issued so that firearms officers could be deployed to the incident at whf?

PS Bews and PC Myall are too frightened to make an approach to the farmhouse, so please send out firearms team as a precautionary measure?

Although there are three of us (police officers) at the scene, we need back up, so please send out firearms officers, just in case there is going to be a shoot out?

I daren't get out of the patrol car, because PS Bews, and PC Myall, and Jeremy have just come racing back to the patrol car, and they are convinced they have seen someone who could possibly be armed, moving around in the bedroom and across the bedroom window - please make sure the firearms team get here as soon as possible?

‘Essex police are wrong to state that they have complied with my Freedom Of Information requests. They have not fulfilled any of my requests to them for information relating to the first five hours of the incident at White House Farm except for two documents which are not directly relevant.

On the 2nd January 2005 I wrote to them requesting this information – Essex police replied on 31st January providing no documents and asking for more specific requests. In February I wrote asking for specific documents. On 31st March I wrote again asking why my previous requests had not been met.
On the 15th April Essex police replied stating that they held no Firearms Register for police officers being issued with firearms, that they have no audio recordings of the radio or telephone calls from the 7th August 1985 although Mr Bonnett stated that he made recordings of all calls. They asked for more specific names of officers that received telephone calls in order to access the Telephone Message Logs I requested. They did however send copies of officer Myall’s and officer Bews pocket notebooks but crucially not officer Saxby’s.

On the 17th May I wrote again with the specific requests and on the 23rd May the police sent some documents but again none of which I had asked for. Finally on the 4th July Essex police wrote back with their reasons for being unable to assist me under the Freedom Of Information Act.

Out of the 60 documents I requested I have been provided with only 2 which contain nothing of relevance. The police have sent me 12 other documents which were not requested and bore no importance whatsoever to the case. None of the remaining 58 documents have ever been seen by the defence and one has to wonder why Essex police choose to not make available all contemporaneous records made during those crucial first five hours of the incident on 7th August 1985…’
