There was no evidence SC was religious until maybe the last few weeks of her life.  She never attended bible classes or even church on a regular basis.  CC said SC showed no interest in religion during their marriage.

Except that in the letter she wrote Ann from St Andrew's she said that she'd found God. It maybe that she also said that she felt he had work for her to do/she wanted to do God's work.

It is very surprising the bible was found next to her.

But wait, it must have been Sheila that put if there. The OS says the note inside was a suicide note.

Then again, the OS also says Sheila was having a chat with the police outside.

Her Doctor would disagree with you. She was a diagnosed schizophrenic.

Strange religious beliefs is a symptom of Schizophrenia

"Patients with schizophrenia also exhibit religious delusions and hallucinations. Further, there is some evidence to suggest that religion influences the level of psychopathology. Religion and religious practices also influence social integration, risk of suicide attempts, and substance use."
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4031576/"

She believed her children were possessed by Satan! you don't often hear that from an atheist now do you?

None of that relates to the bible.

It was a classic framing plant by Bamber. Trying to incorporate a religious element into Sheila's decision to massacre her family. And herself.

Sheila doing what she did because of an alleged fostering conversation was never going to be enough. The judge saying so in his summing up. The two things combined were never enough either.

How does faith in Christianity and belief in the Devil not relate to the bible?  ???

There is the letter she wrote Ann. Saying one has found God are hardly the words of an atheist.

I wonder if there was a Bible where Sheila had lived, particularly when she was with Colin ? I very much doubt it.

Sheila's words that she " had found God " was  to appease her mother in trying to build bridges. Poor girl.
How sad that someone was forced to live with two personalities ! The Sheila who'd enjoyed life with her friends and family, then had to revert to lectures on morals, praying and the skewed world of  her mother's religious rantings.
Enough to send anyone over the edge. To say nothing of how it must have affected Neville having to deal with two entirely different personalities.
I DON'T think Sheila was particularly religious. Only that she HAD to be when visiting WHF.

I believe it to be entirely wrong to deny or disallow anyone's feelings. If Sheila said that she'd found God -for whatEVER reason- who are we to say otherwise? It's just possible that "finding God" MAY have been responsible for her silence. Perhaps it was to do with a quiet inner peace? Please note that I'm NOT giving this possible explanation as fact. I just feel it has as much value as imminent psychosis.

Sorry, but I'm sticking with my own opinions on Sheila, who'd been manipulated by her mother regarding the Bible. As a child,Sheila was impressionable,as most children are,and because she'd had it drummed into her on the " good and evil " and the word of the Bible, didn't mean that she too had religion on her mind. This is where the split personality came in. Sheila had been an entirely different person at WHF than in the company of her closest friends/family. Religion drove the poor girl so mad that it became at the forefront of her life and took over her thoughts. Sheila herself WASN'T religious, she had been driven that way and she hadn't been strong enough to tell her mother that enough was enough. That had been left to Colin. No wonder he dreaded Sheila as did the twins, visiting WHF. God help them.

Also http://psychologyinfo.com/schizophrenia/ - schizophrenia is NOT  'a split personality'

I'm sure you are, but your opinion is no more FACTUAL than is mine. The difference is that you're presenting YOUR opinion as fact whereas I'm offering a possibility. Just for the record, whilst those with schizophrenia hear voices, I don't believe them to have dual personalities. Should that be the case, MANY of us who felt the need to hide who we were from our parents would all; be suffering the same thing.

The same as a split personality ( which I reckon that Sheila had ) isn't always schizophrenia.
