Tolleshunt D'Arcy village centre with it's famous maypole, the longest maypole in the country, I believe.

D'Arcy's maypole stands right at the heart of the village, as the centre of a crossroads, from which radiate out:

Tollesbury Road (B1023 heading South) with Page's Lane leading off of it.

Kelvedon Road (B1023 heading North) to Tiptree and Kelvedon

Church Street (B1026 heading East) which passes the church and becomes the Maldon Road
                      via Goldhanger

Station Road (B1026 to Colchester)

Chapel Road , small road which leads to Tollesbury

Tolleshunt D'Arcy's public phone box in the grounds of the Queen's Head pub. Is this where Jeremy Bamber called Julie Mugford from early in the morning on the day of murders?

Tolleshunt D'Arcy, lovely D'Arcy House, with blue plaques commemorating two former owners, Dr John Salter, the village's former GP and novellist Margery Allingham. Allingham wrote a gorgeous book about wartime in D'Arcy called the "Oaken Heart".

the D'Arcy Spice.

These photos are from files of pictures I've been taking for years, andrea, and I've three cameras so it's hard to recall which one I used for which pictures. My favourite was a heavy and bulky old Cannon digital that I no longer have - I badly need a new one of those. That was very similar to the Cannon EOS 1100D, I think. Also used a couple of cheap cameras from Tesco because they're much lighter and easier to carry around. Climbing winding stairs to church towers with that Cannon dangling from my neck and banging around could be dead hairy.
