Officers outside on the day of the murders claimed that Bamber looked "fake and arrogant"

The press wanted to run a story on DAY ONE that the "son was the killer" and locals instantly believed it was "the evil son"

Ed Lawson who was junior for Bambers defence council said some very interesting things.
"Bamber was a horrible man"
"Wholly focused on money"
"Don't believe Sheila played any part on the killings"
"In hindsight he was guilty"
"We searched for evidence of innocence, there was none there."

Why didn't the press run a story that it was the son from day one  ? Were they not allowed.

To be honest I don't believe the press would be that quick on the uptake. They knew nothing about the family history and feuds. Jeremy may have really been a mummies boy.

No I doubt it. If he did he would have run for the hills, I would. Why on earth would brett remain fiends if he knew?
Can't imagine David but Julie stayed for a month.... why, why??

I think it was before they got more information, when the story began to break that people had been shot at WHF - the local rumblings were that it will have been the son.

That's a good point.

Directly after the massacre Jeremy went around with Brett and a whole host of other friends.

The friends may have been suspicious. Or disgusted that Jeremy seemed so relaxed after the massacre. Or both.

Yet Julie gets all the stick.

No, JB gets plenty of stick but some still think Julie's behaviour strange.
I always believed Maxine Carr was treated really badly because she happened to be the partner of Ian Huntley and got caught up in his appalling crimes.   If Julie has told the truth she was far more aware of what was going on than Maxine Carr was but she walked away with a £25,000 reward.

A friend of Bamber claims Bamber once told him "I fucking hate my family, they keep me short of money."
Taff Jones...

Taff Jones is revealed in the book to not have supported Bambers claims of innocence that supporters have long said he did. He is said to have claimed "Slowly, slowly catchee monkey" and he called Bamber a "good liar"
Taff even told people AFTER he was thrown off the investigation that he would "prove Bambers guilt"
The book goes into detail regarding Taff questioning Bamber about the number of bullets left out on the counter. He told Bamber to "think carefully before you answer because your answer doesn't tallly with the evidence"....Bamber then avoided answering and Taff told him to "answer the question" Bamber couldn't answer
DCC Peter Simpson says "Taff Knew and believed that BAMBER was guilty"

I think the book is worth the purchase alone just for the Taff Jones information.

Well, I feel vindicated about the number of times I have said he avoided answering some of my questions. CAL said the same thing.

And yet this week we saw the TV interview which I think was at the time stating Neville had called Jeremy and the police and was found with the phone in his hands .

But that isn't the case.

Was this the taff jones who got red in the face and practically threw Anne Eaton out of the office for suggesting Jeremy was the offender?

It is all so confusing .

He didn't speak face to face with Brett PH had real difficulty getting Brett to contact him and eventually got a phone call out of the blue from someone claiming to be Brett Collins.  PH said he was sure it was Brett he spoke to although he had no proof.  Brett Collins said he was in bad health and there has been a rumour online since that time claiming Brett has died.

This raises a big red flag. Random phone call claiming to be brett? Regardless we cant take this as authentic  :(

He didn't throw her out because she said Jeremy was guilty, he didn't like her interfering.

Who is going to pretend to be BC? Who has even heard of BC and obviously the guy must have known things only BC could know.

Jeremy said that his Father sounded "Terrified, he sounded really frightened" in the call to him when he asked him to come over quickly.

For interfering, not for suggesting that Bamber was the killer. But I don't think it can be said he threw her, or anyone out. Taff was already thinking that Bamber was invovled, Taff made comments that he thought Sheila and Jeremy were both guilty.

The entire relatives thrown out of the police station is explained quite well in the book.

He was put in touch with someone who knew Brett in NZ and then got the call - obviously would never stand up in court, I am just saying what is written in the book rather than posting my own thoughts.
