Ooooh, plenty of gossip went towards the conviction. This is what was relied upon to make an arrest.

The CPS allows a case to go forward and they DON'T deal in gossip.

The only " lies " that Jeremy told were caused by utter confusion of police putting words into his mout when he was initially questioned in 1985. How could anyone have been expected to know what they said 12 months on ? He'd have remembered everything if he'd committed the murders ! That's par for the course.

No one put words in his mouth on 7th August 1985, the day after the murders!!

Oh yes they did. The time when a solicitor wasn't present when Jeremy was giving the time his father phoned him until it reached confusion point between Jeremy explaining the appx time and the cop then contradicting it and saying Jeremy had " changed his mind " when clearly he hadn't.
This is the sneaky method of questioning in order to create confusion, unless of course you know the EXACT time which usually points to you having committed the crime.

Isn't anyone allowed not to think straight after ALL their family had been slaughtered ? ::)

Why would a solicitor need to be present? Changed his mind about what? Which cop contradicted him?

When police ask you in for questioning, especially in this case where Jeremy was INNOCENT,yet naïve enough not to understand that whatever he said would be written down/recorded.
It's VITAL that for whatever reason you're at a police station to " help with enquiries ",that you're either offered a solicitor,or engage one of your own. It's DANGEROUS  not to do so whether innocent or guilty !!

Asked in where? Jeremy gave his first statement from his own home! You would have to be some kind or complete moron not to realise that a STATEMENT would be written down, especially as you sitting in front of someone actually WRITING IT DOWN!! He wasn't at a police station, he was at Goldhanger!! You ONLY require a solicitor when you are a SUSPECT!!  ::)

Gawd, here's yet another daft question. What's this all for ??

Jeremy spent 11 hours at the police station initially, bombarded with questions.

You stated that words were put in Jeremy's mouth, I said no one put words in his mouth on 7th August 1985 in his first statement. Then you starting banging on about police officers contradicting him - of course you don't back that up with anything. In fact you even thought he gave his first statement at the police station and think he should have had a solicitor.

You're tying yourself up in knots and then doing what you usually do, dismiss all your mistakes and try and blame others. All you do is make sweeping statements and expect people to take what you say as fact. You still haven't backed up yesterdays claims and making more today. This is why people don't take you seriously!

Thankyou for that vote of confidence !!

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I do a lot of research which you don't !! All you do is sit and wait for my posts in order to have a go ALL the time. How sad to just sit and snipe and shout " guilty ". God help anyone if you ever go for jury service, that's all I can say.
You're viewing this case through a pinhole instead of looking at the bigger picture and taking EVERYTHING into consideration instead of just focussing on Jeremy as the killer.

Lookout, Jeremy wasn't taken from the SoC to the police station for questioning. The police visited him, that morning, in his own cottage, where much has been made, by Adam, of the type of breakfast he prepared. They didn't sit and listen to his talking. They wrote down what he said. It was his first statement.
