If I was under suspicion or murdering my entire family, arrogance would be the last trait that would show up. I wouldn't sit saying "no comment"... I would answer the questions to quickly clear my name so that they could move on.
But Jeremy believed he was smart enough to get away with it and wasn't about to say anything that they could use to trip him up, "no comment" at that time is very telling.
Head up and sure of myself. That would be me. Unless I had a solicitor present,I wpuldn't answer any questions either as I know how answers can ne twisted.Even with a solicitor present,it's they who usually advice when to speak.
It's a legal right for an accused to answer with " no comment ".It doesn't mean that you have no intention of answering,it's on the orders of a lawyer not to do,as by answering,such as Jeremy had rattled when first arrested,he shot himself in the foot as the officers took what he'd said as read-------a big mistake,especially where times are concerned when later you discover you were wrong.
