is it possble for somone to post an extract of colins book so we can all see his exact words.
No matter what JB did or didn't do would be painted as bad, Nugs. From the extracts and, more importantly, the statements there is no dispute that Colin didn't visit Sheila's flat to collect or do anything until a month after the murders.
It is somewhat harsh to criticise Jeremy for putting the twins belongings into black bags. What was he supposed to put them in? What are the rules? Should he leave it until Colin decides the time is right? I think he is damned here whatever he does.
Colin's recollections in the book are coloured by a hindsight that has been influenced by events. His initial reaction was that Sheila "had finally done it" and it is worth noting that his opinion only started to change after JB's arrest and negative stories in the press along with the family plotting and "ganging up on him". It is self evident that at this time that Colin still believed Sheila responsible and that he felt that the family were motivated by financial interests. However it is painted, Colin believed the relatives were attempting to blame Jeremy and this was motivated by money and not a true belief in his guilt.
His own recollections are also self serving. In his statement Colin talks of his disappointment at not having had the opportunity to buy some of the more valuable antiques from the flat as he and his mother would have been interested in buying some, as they were Antique dealers.
In the book nothing is mentioned of Colin wishing to have the opportunity to deal in some antiques but it has become all about the heritage.
As for the pictures, why on earth should Colin be the guardian of personal photos of Sheila. She was his ex wife and he was now in another relationship. Who would think upon finding nude pictures of your dead sister that you should immediately give them to her ex husband? Colin and Sheila's relationship had broken down seemingly irretrievably so why wouldn't the pictures be kept safe at Jeremy's?
Colin's book, wrote long after the events, may have proved cathartic for him personally but it is not a contemporaneous version and has little value as a source because it is coloured by time and events since.
