Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive..

To be fair Steve, he always maintained (as far as I know) that he left the gun propped up near the door and the magazine on the settle. He may have said table but meant settle. However, according to Jeremy's later statements, he said he had left WHF by 10pm and that he went to shoot the rabbits some time between 8 and 9pm  ???

Because like most thoughtless 24 year olds, all he probably thought about was getting home and whatever was left behind, his dad would see to it.
Do we know whether his dad DID put the gun away ?

If the gun was ever left out, how could anyone know that given that everyone in the house after Jeremy left, is dead.

I think JB's quite entitled to make one or two faux-pa's considering there were plenty from the others.

None of "the others" had left a gun laying where their mentally ill sister could get hold of it.

So if that was the rifle which was photographed propped up,whose was the one laying on Sheila ? The one which Neville kept under his bed ? Some people have a chamber pot under their beds  :o

Do we have proof that Nevill kept a gun under his bed or is that another myth? After all, we can't ask him, can we?

Point taken Caroline, but the rabbits story varied as well..

According to Mike he did. It's not mentioned in any of the books as far as I recall.

Amazing isn't Caroline how these facts are over looked. His guilt is there for all to see; only bias is stopping them from seeing it. It was my own bias that stopped me from seeing SH's guilt when I learned he had lied about his movements on the night of the murder.

So chances are there was no rifle kept under the bed.

Not the times though, just whether or not he fired a shot.

However, if guns were generally locked away, why would Jeremy say this .....

Claire Powell's. She who spoke of Sheila's £40,000 drug debt.
