colin may not have been mentioned much at this stage, and the fact that he and sheila had split up may have put the police off bringing colin to the farm...maybe

They were his children!

It seems to me that Colin was ignored by everyone - the family, the police ...

agreed kaldin colin has been forgotten about and ignored, in colins book he remembers one of the family suggesting sheila should only have black flowers on her cofin at the funeral, isnt that terrible? poor sheila.

The less non police personnel at WHF, the better.....................

He wouldn't have been at the farm quickly, he was in London. They didn't seem to mind Jeremy ringing Julie Mugford and arranging for a car to bring her to Goldhanger, and she wasn't even related.
She wasn't driven to WHF though, was she?

She was driven to Essex from London by the police, and yet they didn't bother to try to find Colin.

Julie was taken by the Met to a meeting point with Essex Police and driven the rest of the way by them.  I just assumed same thing happened with Colin.

That's awful!  I wonder which family member suggested that?!

will have to look in the book, colin also worried that they might accidently on purpose spill her ashes so he made sure a friend of his collected them for him, so...did they really suspect jeremy from the begining? it doesnt sound that way when you read the above does it?

You mean because they thought she killed everyone and deserved black flowers for doing so? If so, yes that is awful.

I am, of course, ignorant of correct police procedure, but, maybe EP didn't want anyone else to be at WHF either during or after the siege so they couldn't be observed doing whatever they did, or didn't do, if you get my drift...............

That's so sad. Even if Sheila did do it, she did it because she was ill.

You'd think they'd inform him as the father of the children though. He had custody of them at the time - Sheila was only on holiday with them. They had ample time to ask Jeremy about who the father of the children was.

wouldnt the police have had to deal with the crime scene and know officially that everyone was dead before telling colin? colin was in london at the time too, so it would have taken the police a while before getting to his address? i dont think they would have taken colin to whf as he and sheila had split and the police maybe thought his presence could have antagonised her .

They let Jeremy ring Julie Mugford before they knew everyone was dead. I think Colin had a right to know what was going on. Jeremy knew where he lived.

I was just wondering about the funerals. Sheila was cremated with her parents, and the boys were buried in London (or cremated). I wonder how Colin felt about that - separating Sheila from the children.

Also, I suddenly felt a terrible pang for Sheila - whether she was a victim or the perpetrator. What a sad story it really is.

I think as he was the father he should have been informed straight away about what was unfolding, even by Jeremy, he should have phoned him too.  He had a right to know.  How would the police know that his presence would have antagonised Sheila?

Oh I see, thanks. But she had a separate funeral to them.
