New Book
« on: January 12, 2015, 11:38:PM »
The Murders at White House Farm by Carol Ann Lee is due to be published on 30 July and is available for pre-order.

  http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/carol+ann+lee/the+murders+at+white+house+farm/11448775/

Unfortunately, the description has the date of the murders as 4th August and not the 7th.  :(

Perhaps that is just an example of what the rest of the book is like?

I think we pointed out  a few mistakes when it was announced - she also had Jeremy's age wrong. If the easy simple things are wrong, it doesn't sound promising.

well it strikes me that the way books are being churned out about this case any idiot could write one including me.

we could all go off and write one and then we can back and review each others.

'She sets the crime against the historical context, showing how Bamber was a product of Thatcher's eighties, a brash outsider who believed he could and should have it all'.

Seems the author is saying Bamber is guilty.

Personally,I think that getting the date of the murders wrong is an insult to the victims. I too believe that the author will conclude Bamber as having dunnit and that is fine by me so long as she provides some conclusive proof, otherwise it is just but opinion and meaningless. However,I do feel that her book will massively outsell PH's but,of course,we shall have to see.

I agree and it's the most basic of facts and it's wrong. I think it will be simply the story retold with few more comments from those involved. It's not claiming any new evidence, whereas PH's book is. I also think £16.99 is a bit steep for something in which the basic facts are lacking.

You know right away that it's not going to be as bowel-gripping as has been described. The " facts " will be all wrong,I know it. ::) Started off on the wrong footing.

I'd laugh my head off if Jeremy's out before the book is. ;D

Ah well, there's one for you then. If she has set it in historical context then it is off to a bad start seeing she's got two dates wrong already. ;D
