Hit men aren't the normal type of people I normally mix with but I have always read in newspapers hitmen want money up front I suppose if they get caught the family have the money stashed away

I would say a hitman did get paid up front

John nice to see Hartleys got your back and you are so likeminded

Absolutely John. I also dont believe that there was any family discussion that night regarding Sheilas boys being fostered.I think she was in too fragile a condition. JM, if to be believed said that when JB phoned her around 10pm,he told her that he was "pissed off".That tallies with the housekeeper who stated that when she phoned Ralph earlier in the evening that Ralph was very "short" with her and she got the impression that she had disturbed an argument going on.I believe that it was JB and Ralph that argued that evening and that was why Sheila appeared quiet and sullen.

Being a newbie I didn't know about the housekeeper Lady Chelmsey.  I think you could be onto something there. I don't believe for a minute that Nevill and June would suggest the boys be fostered away from the family.  If there was any talk about this could it have been that Nevill and June were wanting to take them under their wings??

That certainly makes more sense to me.  I suspect Jeremy wouldn't have liked that at all, his inheritance about to be divided several ways or go up in smoke completely if Nev and June were to take to the boys in a big way.

Often hitmen are paid half up front and the other half on "completion" of the job.I cant see JB going down that route myself. What if the hitman blabbed or grassed. Also,JB would have left himself wide open to the possibility of blackmail once he received his inheritance.

I dont know how true it is,but JMs mother stated that JB had told her a few weeks previous that June was considering changing her will in favour of the twins.

Yeah that's how I deal with all of my hitmen, I do however make sure I've got an alibi when the hitmen do their work though.

Well knock me down if that's isn't indeed a revelation.  I think we can take Mrs Mugford's testimony at face value for sure, now it is beginning to all add up!!

Exactly Hartley. He could have spent the night with Julie. She had enough flat-mates to confirm his alibi!

Talking about his alibi.  Wasn't that what all the telephone calls were about and the asking police to call for him at the cottage?

John, Hartley, lady Chelmsey cast your mind back to documented information Sheila told Colin she wanted to get back with Colin on the trip to whf but he told her no he was in love with some one else

It is documented that Sheila was very strange that evening of the murders when she spoke to her Aunty

When police knocked on Colin caffells door with the news first thing he said she's done it then

Why would Colin say that?

As for Sheilas state of mind and depression etc chochokeira gives some very detailed posts and Andrea
