Patti Peter Sutcliffe heard voices (so he said) and he was not from a religious background I don't think. Is that a right answer to your question hard to follow :'( ;D ;D

Do you think that those who hear voices from god are those that come from religious backgrounds and those that don't hear gods voice don't Maggie? Not sure if I have put that right.  :-\ ;D ;D ;D
I remember trying to find that out Patti but I couldn't find anything on line about it.
A relation of my was schizophrenic but it didn't relate to religion at all and he wasn't at all violent although he was unable to work because he couldn't relate to people until he was over 50 as schizophrenia does tend to burn out as sufferers get older.

You must have been reading my mind, because I have just thought of him....So religious beliefs might not be cause of hearing voices from god.  :-\ Its a fascinating subject.  Ar but did he hear voices or voices from god?  He also worked in a cemetery didn't he?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Patti he was a grave digger also worked in the mortuary odd ball that is for sure.  It has been said he did not hear voices just said that thought it may help him :'( The scary thing is he looked just like a regular guy and if he stopped you to ask the time you would not run for your life.  Andrea is really well read on the Sutcliffe case :'(

Speaking of hearing voices,I've listened, for the umpteenth time,to Jeremys' interview with Eric Allison. Jeremy is absolutely straight to the point and very matter-of-fact. I'm trying to get my own idea of how he answers the questions put to him,and there's no " erms " or over emphasising on anything ( being dramatic ) I firmly believe him.

They all look like regular guys and some are very attractive like Ted Bundy. Who would have thought that he could slaughter over 30 women.  He was not only attractive but he was intelligent and very cunning. Yet, he got fan mail???? Look at Charles Manson, mind you I don't think he is attractive but he has just married a woman in her 20's and he is 80...What makes these people tick?

Yes, I have read some of what Andrea has posted about Sutcliffe. He was evil to the core, but to his family he was a genuine nice guy....We cannot tell who is this way inclined by looking at them...we trust what we see and if its attractive we tend to go with it....until we find out more and by then it might be too late.

Thank goodness I am single worn out pensioner lolol  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Patti you aint no worn out anything lots of life in you yet my gal.  Yes Andrea is very well read on True Life Crime and her posts were really interesting when she was on here.  Yes it is true Patti you cannot judge a book by the cover.  I remember when I worked in Halifax and use to walk to the multi storey car park in the dark Sutcliffe use to visit Halifax quite scary when I think back. :'(

Watched something last night Lookout about how police can tell that you are lying.  They showed you interviews of those who were guilty and those who were not guilty.  Philpott, Huntley and him that murdered Tia...Stuart Haze ll

They watch expressions, body language and listen to what they say. All 3 that I have mentioned tripped up when they gave television interviews. It was very interesting. Also watched the Tia Sharpe documentary it made me cry....anyone who can have dry eyes watching that must be as hard as nails.   ;D ;D ;D

Still remarkably articulate, redolent of an English public school education,Jeremy seeks the attention he never received whilst at Gresham’s,a damaged individual as well he might be after all these years of incarceration,so much so that he revels in his own company, preferring the life of a hermit to any exterior force which heretofore offered some ray of hope but ultimately has had no answer to his problems . Notwithstanding one cannot help but feel that however much he talks of the light at the end of the tunnel he is acutely aware of the reality that his incarceration brings: there he will remain for the rest of his days as he shuffles along the dining queue as the geriatric he will be transformed into and to which he himself has alluded,a target for younger inmates once again to exploit as an object of torture both physical and verbal, as he was in younger days. How quickly he dismisses those twenty-six years under the breath at one point on the tape and how do you mark each passing year, how they have lingered as Jeremy senses that he is the underdog yet again poring over the mountain of documents with that hopelessness which has never left him, along with that half-hearted confidence as the guilters and believers look on as bystanders but which in some way has affected us all.http://www.theguardian.com/uk/audio/2011/jan/30/jeremy-bamber-murder-appeal-audio
