As far as I was aware Jeremy had access to the safe anyway.

I am sure I read that , because whilst he was going to the safe for something else he saw the wills - they were not hidden away . Also I think he knew about the cannabis that was in there.

Wills are quite often left around anyway. they are not normally a big secret .

just read AE 1991 statements again. seems like access to the safe was very easy , they did not even mention looking for the keys . Note they took Junes jewellery to Basil , but took granny speakmans jewellery home

People buy these safes and then don't use them properly. I remember delivering a safe to Christina Keelings in Rayleigh years ago now. I was in the back of this van holding onto this safe so that it wouldn't go through the side of the van. Then when we got there three of us had to manhandle this thing up two flights of stairs. They heavy is all I can say. So if you're going to invest in that kind of security why leave the key lying around for anyone to find.

I've got an old Smiths safe and it weighs a ton. It's part lead-lined but we've got one of those " cart " things that have two wheels,like the luggage carriers at a railway station. I'm sure if it was upstairs,it'd go through the floor.

Speaking of gold teeth,I could have strangled my son-in-law when he found my pa-in-laws' gold teeth which were on a denture plate,really heavy old ones back then.Well,son-in-law said " yuk,look at these,and promptly tossed them into the skip that we had at the time.The chances of finding them under all the rubbish that was being thrown out,including garden rubbish,leaves,grass cuttings soil etc,was nil. There were about 4 on the plate,and pa-in-law never skimped on anything.
