Hey Susan. Yeah, I don't think it was really left out either. He may have stored it somewhere he could get to it, but I don't think he would risk leaving it out in the open because he'd risk it being put away.

Mat that is exactly what I think he left it where he could get his hands on it quickly.

None of the rifle were in a secure place, they were left all over the house in various rooms...two were on the stairs others were in the bathroom, one was left upstairs and the one in the den was not even in the gun cupboard, so to say Neville was careful with his guns is not correct. Maybe they were not loaded, but nonetheless its a careless thing to do especially where there are children. Just saying  ;D ;D ;D

Where was the shotgun ( Sheilas' prints were on it ) which was found/known by AE. ? We never did get to find out which area of the farmhouse it was, though AE knew.

lookout I have been led to believe but cannot be sure that the shotgun was in the downstairs toilet.

I would like to know for absolute certainty,Susan. Also as to where it was moved from.

The office - leaning against the wall.

The office - leaning against the wall.

It looks like there is another gun in its case behind the door...looks to big to go in the gun cupboard. I doubt an empty case would stand upright??????????

Thanks Caroline. It would look as though the shot has been emptied out of it. Presumably that's the one with Sheilas' prints on it.

They'd both go in the cupboard,Patti------on an angle. Those cases were of a canvas material,so stiff enough to stand up by themselves.  ;D
The one behind the door in its case would have been AP's ? If it was in its case ? That's the confusion.

If AP said he'd taken the bolt home with him,it meant that his rifle still remained at WHF,yet it was then said that his rifle wasn't there ? Was the confusion because it was only licensed to be kept at WHF and not his own home, and that he feared he get into trouble for having a weapon in his possession when it should have been at the place it was licensed at ? Debateable.

Jeremy would have chosen another method.Shooting would have been far too messy for him,and also too obvious seeing that weapons were to hand.

I wonder WHAT method, resulting in making sure they all died together, he'd have employed.

He wouldn't have killed them all,April. Positively not the children, but he'd have " chosen " his time.Maybe not Sheila either if he was thinking of an alibi ( mental health ),just the parents.
Dad with an " accident " on the farm. Mum,foxglove or aconite, anything growing in the garden used as herbal remedies.
