I think that during this problem and you can't send a PM for any reason then could you not use email or MSN to chat? Its another option.

Why would you presume the messages would be funny? Perhaps 'everyone' should post their PM's on the forum in that case? Of course that would defeat the object of them being 'personal' . 

I rarely send them,so it doesn't apply in my case.

I do not think there is really a problem Patti.  I think there has been a substantial increase in PM traffic over the past week.  I can increase the count settings if members would like me to.

I thought someone yesterday said it was a mod decision to alter the number? I've looked for the post but can't find it.

It was my decision.  To deal with the apparent problem reported by April I increased the count limit twice.  Subsequently I changed the settings again.  The mod team consider the current limits appropriate, but as I said in an earlier post if members experience problems we will reconsider.

Haven't had any problems today but as I said, yesterday I sent only one and received the error message.

Either way - it is more of an irritant than a problem and resetting it back to the normal 20 would be helpful, if possible and the mods don't have a problem with it.

It must be a glitch.  It is difficult to know how to find the cause.  So far only you and possibly April have experienced it.  If any other members have experienced the same problem please shout.

I took the decision initially then confirmed it with the mods.  It is now a mod decision.  It can easily be changed if there are genuine problems.
