No it was Woodcock.  Montgomery was one of the bigwigs Woodcock was the worker bee.  In his testimony Hammersley said he thought it was Montgomery but it was actually Woodcock.

Its debatable...lol

Woodcock took credit for it in his statements and I have seen nothing from Montgomery that challenges it.

It matters not who took the rifle. However its not beyond possibility that the rifle was handled from the onset which may have disturbed vital evidence such as fingerprints.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well the police at the scene touched it by the loops.  Cook said he was very careful with the gun before fingerprinting it to make sure as few people touched it as possible. The evidence that exists says it was handled carefully. The best chance of finding prints was in the blood anyway but no such luck.

Oh so Cook handled the rifle as well? I rest my case.  ;D

I agree, no such luck because the fingerprints became incompatible.  :-\

they are all going to to say i was very careful when handling the evidence it would be suicide to say anything else.

Cook took it and other weapons to be fingerprinted at different locations on various occasions.  He did the superglue fuming.
