Scipio  think you would really take to Morris Dancing you have a little stick and bells around the top of your knee socks very becoming.  Google and see it for yourself.

I saw a youtube video they looked like Amish to me, I think I saw that dance in European Vacation but I could swear they were in Germany.  I have not seen it in a long time so maybe it was the UK.

The German lederhosen are remarkably similar to the outfits worn by Morris dancers.

Every summer, my little cousins wore lederhosen - all the time. Cool little boys, they looked like little Mowglis in lederhosen. They had them for YEARS, don´t know why really, but guess my aunt thought those shorts were practical!

Perhaps it was so she knew where they were because of the creaking leather ;D ;D ;D

Could be! But knowing my aunt, she would have bought those lederhosen several sizes too big, so that they could wear them for ten summers - which they did! They are hard to wear down, very solid!

No the dance I saw before, I am pretty sure in the German trip of the movie European vacation.  They did wear lederhosen in it.

The clothing and beards reminds me of Amish people.

A google search suggested it could soon be extinct so I guess I am not the only one who is not a fan.  Maybe it will be resigned to Oktoberfest activities like the Chicken dance.
