Depends on Jeremy´s hearing. We lived in a large house in Iceland - I could hear what people were saying even if they were WHISPERING on another floor at the other end of the house. They could never understand how I knew what they were talking about!

Even with you're bedroom door shut ? You must have good ears.

No, not closed, but I would easily hear a telephone ring downstairs with the door closed. You arn´t getting anywhere with this.
Jeremy´s cottage was super small, it wasn´t a large house.

Adam, why do you always quote your own posts? Do you think they are that brilliant that they have to be repeated - or? We have already seen it - it is super-annoying!

You said I was not going anywhere, in you're view.

But if Jeremy's upstairs bedroom door was shut and he was 'sleeping like a log' with one ear against a pillow, he would not hear the phone.

Lookout has said Jeremy was lazy and has previously said he would be knackered after 14/17 hours working.  So may have ignored the phone anyway. So why would Neville call if the call would go straight to Jeremy's answering machine ?

I can't recall how many times you've asked that question or in how many threads. The only person who could have given you a precise answer CAN'T.

Your post is already there - in this thread. I don´t understand why you do this all the time. Is it to annoy us?

Nothing you say proves anything. Do you know the layout of Jeremy´s cottage? If not, you can´t deduce that he wouldn´t hear the phone. Do you know how Jeremy´s hearing was? If not, you cannot claim he did not hear the phone. Do you know how loudly his phone rang? If not, you cannot say he did not hear the phone.
If the phone rings in the middle of the night, it is normally bad news, and you rush to the phone.

My experience is people do often shut their bedroom doors when going to bed.

I do. Whether living alone or with someone.  I would struggle  to hear a lounge phone ringing, even when awake with a bedroom door shut. Even when living in a flat.

If 'sleeping like a log' I certainly would not hear a phone ringing with a bedroom door shut. Whether in a flat or house.

Jeremy's bedroom was upstairs, meaning a phone ring sound would have to travel through the lounge and travel upstairs. Then travel through a shut door. It is unlikely an awake person would hear it. Someone 'sleeping like a log' would certainly not hear the phone.

Jeremy must have left his bedroom door open. Or did he ?

My experience is that people who live alone, particuarly men, don't bother to close their bedroom door.

Even with it open the chances of a phone so far away waking him up woudl be slim.  It would take him several minutes to answer and that is a problem because he had an answering machine that would have picke dup before he could reach the phone. If he had it off then it would mean Nevill sat there letting it ring for several minutes instead of hanging up to call someone else.

Where was Sheila during this and why would June still be in bed during it?  No Jeremy supporter can ever provide a plausible explanation.  Instead they change the subject.

Moreover, if this actually happened Sheila would simply have shot him upon discovering him on the phone not to disconnect the call and make sure the phone remained off the hook so no one else could call then march him upstairs to shoot him in the bedroom with June.  In a psychotic rage she would just care about killing him, not be bothered trying to plan out where to do it and to make sure he is killed alongside June.

This is a discussion forum. Sadly 5 of the main people are dead. The other claims he is innocent and blames EP, the relatives & Julie.

So some of the discussion will be opinions and speculation.

Which goes to show that there are certain posts you either overlook or ignore. There really isn't much point in my repeating what I think may have happened because whilst I'm allowing for the possibility that it MAY have, you're denying it ever did.

However, I HAVE to pick up your assertion that "..............even with it (the door) open the chances of a phone so far away waking him would be slim"!!!!! SO FAR AWAY????? Have you the faintest idea of just how tiny is a two up/two down cottage built for a farm labourer? All the renovation in the world couldn't alter the basis dimensions.

I don't agree that it would take 'several minutes'. This is quite a large house but I could get downstairs to answer the phone in LESS then 30 seconds. OK, you have to add on the time it would take for Jeremy to wake up - but that could be seconds to minutes. I don't think it's impossible for Neville to have called Jeremy - I just find it VERY unlikely.

Shows people are different. When single I always shut my bedroom door. Habit I suppose as the door was always shut when mummy tucked me up.

Jeremy either did or did not. If he did, the downstairs phone would not be heard. He said himself he slept 'like a log' that night.

"Jeremy either did or did not" How truly profound.

If the doors to the stairs and bedroom had been removed and the phone was in the room the stairs led out of he'd have had little trouble either hearing it or reaching it.
