Put away by Jeremy ?

I said dog owners put their dogs in shut doored rooms when they go out or go to bed.

WHF was big enough for Crispy to be put in a room by Neville/June before bed. Meaning Crispy was not a problem when Jeremy slipped through the loose window.
If he was put away in a room by Nevill then why was he found by cops cowering under a bed?

People I know with dogs put them in a room when they go out. Otherwise the dog could charge around their house messing up things, ruining furniture etc. Ditto at night when people want to sleep.

This was no doubt the case at WHF. Jeremy may have had to enter the room where Crispy was after the massacre. Or may have wanted to have Crispy roaming around. To give the impression Neville had not gone to bed.

Better to give a dog the run of the house, especially at nigh-time. They're your ears when you're asleep and will alert you.

lookout I agree with you dogs are usually given the run of the house and they bark at any strange noise.  Now I have a cat she does not bark but if she hears anything different she waggles her ears;D ;D ;D ;D I know then to be on alert. ;D

Personally I think he's both deaf and blind? He certainly acts like he is.
