You're right, even the fat, smelly ones, but it might have been too late....................

I thought perhaps the dog  in the shed would be barking because it could hear and sense the presence of the police outside - he would be more of a guard dog.  With the little one inside, that would be the one that could be heard barking over the open phone line.  Can't remember the time of the line being opened by the operator, but little dogs can be just as protective over their owners as bigger ones, regardless of who is harming them.  Obviously, that still doesn't tell us who was the shooter.  Did the 'little one' usually sleep in the main bedroom?  I assume he was found cowering, wherever, as he was terrified of the police descending into the bedroom.  But, yes, if only dogs could talk....

After the murders, when Crispy was kept at JBs cottage,Ann Eaton remarked how the little dog wouldnt go anywhere near JB.It kept climbing on to her and Peters lap, which she said rather annoyed her because she didnt like the dog.It was said that Ann had the dog put down but that turned out to be untrue. It was actually JB that had Crispy put down.

+1!

Chelmsey - good point that I now remember reading. I think the dog actually bit JB in the days afterwards as well. None of this is hard evidence but it does make you think.

Wish I had a pound for every piece of evidence that boils down to 'Ann Eaton said'.

Quote from: Hartley
. . . from what I can work out the moon would have been on the East side (Pages Ln side) of White House until approx 6:30 in the morning when it would be directly overhead . . .
As seen from England, the moon is never directly overhead.

Good point Chochkeira Anne Eaton is always there putting her two penneth in.  so was ann Eaton around Jeremys a lot then to observe this behaviour and if this dog hated JB so much and would have barked when he climbed through the window (as Mugford had said he could get in and out a particular window easily) surely that would have alerted everyone to the fact that someone had just entered the house

Why didnt the Anne Eaton we know and love take in this poor door that hated being at jeremys the few weeks before he was arrested (where was it when he was on holiday) didnt she have enough room or land to take it in. plus 1 keira

So JB could have cycled to WHF, with his kitbag containing wet/dry suit etc... and when let in by family he has some lame excuse as to why he has arrived.  He then proceeds to the settle to get changed in to the wet suit and collect the gun before beginning the carnage.

Jackiep.Ann Eaton had said that she couldnt stand the dog and that is why she didnt take it in.
