Those with histrionic personality disorder have excellent social skills which are used to manipulate others in order to make themselves the centre of attention. Other traits they may exhibit are as follows:
They feel uncomfortable when they are not the centre of attention.
They like to dress provocatively. Their behaviour is often seductive and over sexualized.
They have emotional shifts.
They act dramatically, as if for an audience. Exaggerate emotions and gestures but appear to lack sincerity.
They are overly concerned with physical appearance.
There is a constant need for reassurance and approval.
Gullible and easily influenced by others. Excessively sensitive to criticism and disapproval.
Self centred with no concern for others.
Difficulties with relationships.
Can either threaten or attempt suicide to gain attention.
