« on: March 05, 2014, 01:25:PM »
at first police were saying jeremy hired a hitman  then this changed to jeremy doing it himself.

nugnug  think the hitman story came from Julie to the police then they discovered he had a watertight alibi.

Nugs, I'd hazard a guess at only because Julie told the that Jeremy had told HER a hit man was involved. Not in their wildest dreams would they have taken SERIOUSLY that anyone would shoot 5 people, including 2 children, for the paltry sum of £2000.

im guessing that she was persuaded to come up with the hitman story.

becouseing im guessing they needed a hitman in order to have a credible case.

Nugs, please DON'T confuse me!!! It's beginning to sound as if you're saying that the police told her to tell them that Jeremy had told her that a hitman shot a whole family, including 2 children for £2000!!!!! My brain aches :D :D

Somehow the hitman thing sounds plausible to me. A hitman (who didn´t know the layout of the interior of the farm properly) - no way, couldn´t have happened, not with three grown ups and two children and not at all at that low price.
Jeremy alone: no way. Too many possibilities of it going wrong with three adults - one might escape, even two might escape. Too daunting a task for Jeremy alone in the middle of ths night. I don´t think he was that "brave".
However, I have said this often: Jeremy AND a hitman, I can see that - and in that case, the price seems more realistic.
Sorry, just something I can see having happened, and it would explain some things that I struggle with in both the Sheila did it scenario (in lack of a better word) or the Jeremy did it sc.

I think I've heard it said that Julie spilled the beans to a friend -Susan, I think- and the friend, whose agenda MAY have been that she wanted revenge on Jeremy because he'd had sex with her OR she wanted revenge on JULIE because Jeremy had had sex with HER, spilled the beans to the police.

im thinking that the police had worked out that jeremy couldent have done it  himself.

so there was a need to bring a hitman into the theory.

but i think it was a necessary myth at the time because the police accepted that jeremy was telling the truth about the phonecall.

Which means that it HAS to have been Julie who came up with the name. The police wouldn't have been stupid enough, without checking first, to give her the name of someone with an alibi. Of course, two people doing the shooting WOULD explain two types of bullets found.
